Internet celebrity, “Kai the hatchet wielding hitchhiker”, has been arrested for the bludgeoning murder of a New Jersey attorney who Kai claims raped him. Surveillance video captured images of the two of them together prior to going back to the attorney’s house, where he was found dead after police went to his house to do a welfare check on him. According to this story from Philly.com, Kai was arrested at a bus stop in Philadelphia after someone recognized him and called the police who caught him attempting to flee the area.
A self-described “homefree” hitchhiker, who became a viral sensation on the Internet in February and was wanted for the bludgeoning death of a New Jersey attorney he allegedly met in Times Square this week, was arrested at a Center City bus depot Thursday evening.
Philadelphia police said someone in the Starbucks at 10th and Chestnut streets recognized the man and alerted them. Center City District officers went to the Starbucks, but “Kai” had already left. They later tracked him down at the Greyhound Bus terminal near 11th and Filbert streets around 6 p.m. and arrested him, according to a source.
YouTube viewers know him as “Kai, the hatchet-wielding hitchhiker.” He became an instant star after he said he saved the life of a woman from a homicidal man who believed he was Jesus. His interview with with a Fresno television reporter turned him into a celebrity.
The video below helped Kai become an internet sensation and a guest on several late night shows including Jimmy Kimmel. That video also below.
I’m thinking FRAMED.
After all,we can’t allow ordinary ‘heroes’ to be running around doing the job of the local police depts./FBI/CIA/DHS/TSA, and all the other alphabet agencies, can we?
I’m thinking FRAMED as well. He’s a surfer here in CA. Why would he go to New Jersey or Philadelphia? Did he hitch a ride with someone who drugged him and held him captive?? This story doesn’t add up.
. . .
It definitely rates the X-Files category.
One less lawyer. This man deserves a medal.
