It Begins: Florida Resident’s Firearms, Ammunition Confiscated Under Gun Control Law

Breitbart – by AWR Hawkins

The guns and ammunition of a 56-year-old Lighthouse Point, Florida, resident were confiscated by police in what is reportedly the first such seizure under gun control laws signed by Gov. Rick Scott (R) last week.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that “four firearms and 267 rounds of ammunition” were taken from the man, and he was “taken to a hospital for involuntary psychiatric treatment.”

The seized firearms were listed as “a Ruger LCP .380 pistol, an M2 Mauser .45 pistol, a Charter Arms .357 mag snub nose revolver and a Mossberg 500 12-gauge shotgun.”

The paper notes that “the civil ruling removing his access to guns and ammunition was granted under … new legislation — which permits confiscating guns from people who have not been committed but are deemed a potential risk to themselves or others, according to the order signed by Broward’s Chief Judge Jack Tuter.”

The confiscatory order also bars the man from making new firearm or ammunition purchases.

On March 9, Breitbart News reported that Gov. Scott signed a $400 million gun bill that includes orders which allows a family member or law enforcement to petition a judge to order the seizure of an individual’s firearms. The bill also put waiting periods in place for long gun purchases, raised the minimum purchase age for long gun purchases (from 18 to 21), and banned bump stocks.

When asked about the confiscatory order that resulted in the seizure of the Lighthouse Point resident’s firearms, Mayor Glenn Troast said, “This is not about the Second Amendment and it’s not about the NRA. We need commonsense gun laws and this is a commonsense gun law that gives police officers new tools they need to help us protect our community.”

  1. Well, here you go America, the confiscation is starting, so what will the response be?!? If anyone thinks that they won’t come for their firearms, then those people are fools. Like pieces on a chessboard, the small moves always precede checkmate.

  2. “… that “four firearms and 267 rounds of ammunition” were taken from the man, and he was “taken to a hospital for involuntary psychiatric treatment.”

    FINALLY!!!

But here’s the thing, commie @ssclowns… that was only ONE person, obviously unprepared.

Now you’ve only got 299,999,999 more to worry about.

    MOLON LABE, commie jewb#tches!!!

  3. hey trumpers ….here is your ‘take the guns first……then due process’
except there will not be anything but confiscation and psychiatric institution or death or all three

  4. Seeing this article has got me questioning my priorities right now which is putting button holes on a shirt.

Should not we be standing at Lexington and Concord this moment?

  5. The “who gets to decide” issue, I hope, will seep deep into the minds of most Americans (some, of course, will toe the line no matter what—these are the permanently lost), and THEY, these “most Americans”, will be the deciders!

It is extremely dangerous for “family members” (because families do hold grudges against certain members at times) or “law enforcement” (who can just get back at someone they don’t like by ‘ordering’ the person’s guns to be confiscated) to have “orders” to do this unlawful act.

Keep in mind the scene in “1984” where Winston Smith’s neighbor Parsons is turned into the “authorities” by his own daughter for a “hate crime”…. is this sort of thing next? Because useful idiots in Antifa and BLM will surely take advantage of this, as will high school bullies (esp. minority bullies against white students, or Jewish high school students against any gentile student!)

    1. Really good points, DL. You are so right, like opening up a can of worms, but really it’s a den of snakes, ready to bite and poison.

What you wrote about “families” made me question if this is a time to get rid of my own “grudges.” Hate to say it, but easier said than done.

      .

  6. Was this done on a phone call from someone?
    How did this get rolling?
Doesn’t say how he came up on their radar

Reason I’m asking is we are in a need to know basis on how this event became to being
As not to fall into that trap , and how to combat it

There should be a huge group of people in front of that Court house
This mans rights are actively being violated

    1. We were on the same wave-length, EOTS. Wrote this right before I read your important comment:

What a deficient article from Breitbart, but of course, we know whom they serve. So the man was taken for “involuntary psychiatric treatment,” and the “new legislation … permits confiscating guns from people who have not been committed but are deemed a potential risk to themselves or others…” But nowhere is it mentioned as to why the man was “deemed a potential risk.”

And the author is hailed as “an award-winning Second Amendment columnist.” Really? How come he didn’t point out the illegality of these proceedings? He just sat back and nicely reported what OFFICIALDOM did. Any writer worth his salt or any 2A advocate, would have been all over this. Seems Breitbart inhaled some HuffPo.

And what might that poor guy who had his guns taken and his rights violated be going through right now? Yeah, we don’t know the whole story, but to just imagine standing in his shoes, is heart-wrenching and infuriating.

      .

  7. They’ve indoctrinated enough commie tools to run around and point the finger, see something say something, against anyone who stands for the bill of rights, has an anti commie/ Zionist opinion, teaches truth or questions events. It’s the insane mindless mob they’ve created that will call all of us crazy, a threat. And this will continue one by one. As we have predicted. It’s funny, I remember when many thought democrats would be the ones to accomplish this and that they were safe by voting Republican. Under trump and a Republican dominated government, the confiscation begins. The confiscation that the idolizers of police and military said they would never let happen. What happened to defend against ALL enemies, foreign AND domestic? The zio commies are laughing at all of us. We send them billions while they send jackboot police to strip you of your rights, property and dignity. I thought it was those Muslims we had to watch out for? We have a judeochristian government doing it to you and you’re voting for it every 4 years. This is it people. There’s no turning back. Make no mistake, your gonna see this steamroll on we the people from now on. I said I would stand for the bill of rights. Who will stand with me?

    1. Excellent summation, Jamal, and spot on. Couldn’t agree with you more. It seems the zio-joo commies holding the laser pointer always makes sure it doesn’t point it at itself. I certainly wouldn’t if that frantic dog kept pouncing on wherever it stopped. Unfortunately for the dog, he usually doesn’t have a strategy and only plans one step at a time, which is how many people act and react. Been with you all along, Jamal. See you on the line!

  8. A similar law is being passed in Illinois. If someone doesn’t like you, well you lose your gun rights .

I guess that’s what you get for supporting a Communist!

  9. I would like to know, from you men and ladies, what you think of the NRA? i have heard some bad things, but i am not a member, and really don’t know about them, are they compromised? What about the national association for gun rights, would they be the ones to join? can you help me out with this? thanx!

    1. Gwen, the NRA has supported infringements for a VERY long time. Read this-
      http://www.keepandbeararms.com/information/XcIBViewItem.asp?ID=3247

Rather than sending your money to an organization to “protect” your right to defend your life and especially to defend it from “govt” tyranny, spend it on” every terrible instrument of the soldier.”

These organizations are nothing more that money pits to give you the illusion that your right to defend yourself is safe and sound. We are the protectors of ALL of our rights.

      1. Thank you very much katie, didn’t realize how bad they were. I hate to sound like a dumb dumb, but what is “every terrible instrument of the soldier”

    2. THE most important aspects of all these shootings are:

      1. The shooter is always on psychotropic drugs
      2. There are always several credible witnesses who saw multiple shooters.

ANYONE who is NOT mentioning those points is NOT working to preserve the Bill of Rights, but instead, are helping to conceal the lies while they feign support for gun rights.

I don’t care if it’s the NRA, GOA, or six monkey’s uncles. If you’re fighting for gun rights, you’d be exposing the most important aspects of the shootings that are being used to remove those rights. Anyone who is NOT discussing the two items mentioned above, is in the business of shoveling BS. (and collecting donations, of course)

  10. Time to put an add on Craig’s list… ” looking for 20 million ( or more ) Constitutional Individuals to unite and take back our individual right to live free from an Unconstitutional communistic parasitic government.”
    Just a thought..

  11. This doesn’t sound real to me. No reasons given, and no word on who deemed him a threat, or why.

Unless someone has seen more information on this than is written here (I’m going to look in a minute), consider that this may have been placed in the news to gauge public reaction.

It may also have been placed in the news to get people used to the idea of their guns being taken….OR…. just to convince other Americans that people are giving up their guns without a fight.

The first few confiscations may decide how things proceed. If cops are shot, other cops may be reluctant to follow the order, but we should be real careful about our sources of info on these events.
Zionist news will ALWAYS try to convince you that everyone else is giving up their arms without a struggle, and if cops were being blown to pieces at these confiscations, you’re NOT going to hear about it in the mainstream press. (or Zio-news)

You’re going to see their best propaganda or “perception management” techniques used on this issue.

They MUST confiscate firearms or they’re doomed, so these are desperate people behind this, and their only way to proceed with this successfully is to convince you that everyone else is giving up their guns without a struggle.

  12. In the article I posted above, it makes this guy sound like an absolute psycho. Painting the picture that only wack nut jobs should have a concern about being deprived of due process of the law, ending up in having your guns confiscated.

    1. yeah, Katie. I read that article, and most of the one at the sun-sentinel, which started off identically, but that’s when the Jews got into my computer and crashed it. (Orlando Sentinel and Sun sentinel are probably the same company)

You’re right. They did make the guy out to be a nut job, and they probably always will regardless of whose guns they seize.

And…. still no way to be certain it actually happened, because I didn’t see anything else about it in my search, expect for those two papers that are probably owned by the same Heeb.

      1. “They did make the guy out to be a nut job, and they probably always will regardless of whose guns they seize.”

I agree JR, every person this happens to will be followed up with some crazy reason for it. Some of the commenter’s on Breitbart and the FL article thought this was ok cuz they were obviously loony.

        1. They thought it was okay because if they didn’t think it was okay, they would have to do something about it.

        2. another thing to remember, Katie, is that the comments are usually part of the propaganda. They may be fictitious, or any negative comments will be deleted.

(there are very few places I can comment at all, for example, and DISCUS automatically buries every comment I make at the bottom of the stack)

  13. There are unanswered questions. My neck hairs went up at “involuntary psychiatric”, but it’s possible too, this could be a completely legitimate situation. The Orlando Sentinel is to blame here that some very pertinent facts are missing.

Maybe one of you could contact:

    1. Im unaware of any situation that is “completely legitimate” .

Sounds like kidnapping and robbery to me.
People cant kidnap or rob so how can a ‘government’ that supposedly derives its power from the people kidnap and robb?

      1. Darn.
I’m so uneducated. I didnt proof read this comment for spelling a grammar errors. Robb is a persons name. I meant rob like hold up or steal.
Dont tell Cleatus the grammar nazi.

  14. “This is not about the Second Amendment….We need common sense gun laws” he says.

Bahahahaha! I’m surprised he can say that with a straight face.
