Revised method for making black powder using military manual.
This method is the best of the cooking methods that I’ve used.
It is the safest fastest method to make high quality Black Powder.
You can make 1Kg in approximately 2 hours not counting the full drying time, +2-3 hr.

My new revised method uses grams.
When mixing in grams the calculations are simple.
75% KNO3 (Potassium Nitrate)= 750 grams by weight.
15% Charcoal = 150 grams by weight.
10% Sulfur = 100 grams by weight.
2 cups of water.

This weighs more than a pound and I mix it with mixer I bought at Penny’s for $100. Mix cold until smooth, no lumps and creamy texture. Place in pan on stove and heat at low temp stirring until the mix gets little bubbles all through it.

I use approximately the same amount of alcohol about 40-50 oz in the finishing process.

If using metal pans as I did in this video you should touch everything before starting to discharge any static electrical charges. This is most important once the powder is nearly dry and when it is dry. When powder is dry in metal pan touch the outside of the pain away from the powder. I literally touch the box it’s setting on first then touch the outside of the pan away from the powder then I go ahead with my process.

Us plastic or wooden stir implements. I know I’ve used metal but I shouldn’t. You shouldn’t use anything that might give off even the slightest spark.

    1. THIS IS THE SAFEST METHOD FOR MAKING “LOW ORDER EXPLOSIVES”.. DRY “BALL MILLING” HAS BEEN KNOWN TO SPARK. NOT ONLY RUINING YOUR WORK, BUT CAUSING INJURY AS WELL.
      IF MADE WET, IT CANNOT IGNITE………..
      AN OLD ELECTRIC HAND MIXER WORKS JUST AS WELL AS A “KITCHENAID” APPLIANCE.
      DONT SKIMP ON THE ALCOHOL. IT BONDS WITH THE WATER MOLECULES AND AIDS IN EVAPORATION.
