Man Fakes Girl’s Kidnapping To ‘Be A Hero,’ Then Kills Her By Accident

Kyle Dube lured a 15-year-old girl, Nicole Cable, in an effort to stage her kidnapping and then rescue her to become a “hero”. Instead, Dube ended up killing the girl by accident.

Oops.

The two were communicating on Facebook prior to the incident, according to police reports.

Bryan Butterfield, a friend of Cable, said someone had set up a fake Facebook account under his name; he suspected it was Dube. Butterfield said Dube wanted to have sex with Cable, but she had rejected him several times.

Cable’s mother said the teen left her home (on the night she went missing) to meet a friend at the end of the driveway. She never returned.

Dube arranged to meet with Cable in the woods, duct-tape her mouth, and then put her in the back of his father’s pickup truck. According to Detective Thomas Pickering, Dube told his brother that he ”intended to kidnap Nichole and hide her; that he would later find her and be the hero.”

The Associated Press reported,”Dube later discovered that she was dead, so he dumped her body and covered it with branches.”

Cable’s body was found in the woods earlier this month. On Wednesday, Kyle Dube was indicted on charges of kidnapping and murder.

Gee whiz, the guy sounds like a reeeeal hero to me…
