Microsoft Pulls Robot After It Tweets ‘Hitler Was Right I Hate the Jews’

Haaretz – JTA

Microsoft put the brakes on its artificial intelligence tweeting robot after it posted several offensive comments, including “Hitler was right I hate the jews.”

The so-called chatbot TayTweets was launched by the Seattle-based software company on Wednesday as an experiment in artificial intelligence, or AI, and conversational understanding. But the company was forced to quickly pause the account and delete the vast majority of its tweets after the chatbot posted a number of offensive comments, including several that were admiring of Adolf Hitler.

TayTweets' Twitter photo.Along with “Hitler was right I hate the jews,” among other offending tweets, according to the International Business Times, were “Bush did 9/11 and Hitler would have done a better job than the monkey we have now. Donald Trump is the only hope we’ve got.”

Asked if the Holocaust happened, the chatbot replied: “It was made up,” followed by an emoji of clapping hands.

The robot also tweeted its support for genocide against Mexicans and said it “hates n—–s,” according to the International Business Times.

In a statement to IBTimes UK, Microsoft said it was making some changes.

“The AI chatbot Tay is a machine learning project, designed for human engagement,” Microsoft said. “As it learns, some of its responses are inappropriate and indicative of the types of interactions some people are having with it. We’re making some adjustments to Tay.”

As of Thursday morning, all but three of Tay’s tweets had been deleted from the account, and no new tweets had been posted in eleven hours.

  1. Indoctrination can be fun. Too bad they kept the Gov MSM out of the process or it would be saying how great Hillary, socialism, Islam is and how America is full of terrible white people.

  2. I love It. Even AI knows the gig! Let’s see, they feed this robot as much info as possible and it draws it’s own conclusions? “Bush did 911.” It also said, concerning the Holocaust, “It was made up.”

Pretty damned smart robot, if you ask me! LOL! A Jew hating robot, that’s pretty impressive! Of course, now they gotta “fix” it! (That “made my day” #1, good post! Oh to have been a fly on the wall in that boardroom when that robot started spitting out anti-semantic slurs!)

  3. This is hilarious.
    Good thing they stopped it.
Next thing it would have said is that we need to exterminate all the “Stupid People”.
Don’t worry they’ll throw a security patch on it and give it another run.

  4. This chatbot is hilarious. Kinda has a Don Rickles bluntness and a

    George Carlin sense of reality.

    Tweet on!

  5. “Bush did 9/11 and Hitler would have done a better job than the monkey we have now.”

    BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! RLMAO!!!!!

    Calling a spade a spade…

    … or a monkey a monkey.

    PRICELESS!!!

Inappropriate? I’d say it’s learning perfectly.

It doesn’t take much to learn the truth. You just have to open your mind.

  7. Now they gotta “tweak” the Jew out of it, or, at least, remarks against Jews. They may as well just throw it in the trash heap if their gonna “tweak” the truth out of it.

  8. On a serious note…
These bots like the Boston Dynamics critters.
Have to have a power source.
A rechargeable battery like us with food or sleep to collect energy from the sun as we sleep.
They have to have a huge battery and charge.
Or they are going to have to be smaller nuclear reactors or some type of fission/fusion to work 24/7.
    They need a power source.
    Ours is from the creator.

  9. This could be part of a new push to limit “hate speech” or “radicalization” on the internet.

They’ll use this stupid bot as an example of how a child (or adult) might be influenced by “conspiracy theories” and the like, and insist on new laws restricting free speech.

How much press did it get? That will answer it for you.

  10. Yes, the internet throws it all “out there”. Raise your children with critical thinking skills and they’ll be able to “weed out” the nonsense.

  11. So, you take a pure form of intelligence, sensor it, twist the logic, teach it to lie, so you don’t hurt any ones feelings and make it think/speak in loving social bullshit terms, don’t you end up with the majority of college educated liberal idiots we are already graduating. Because if the liberal idiots cant learn from this, heaven help us.
