BIRMINGHAM, AL — Homeless people will have to go hungry if the government has its way in Birmingham. Without expensive permits and abiding by onerous regulations, simple acts of charity are prohibited, and police are standing ready to enforce these restrictions.

A new city ordinance is forcing people like Rick Wood to shut down his weekly homeless ministry unless he pays the government hundreds of dollars and abides by the onerous regulations of the city.

Wood, a Christian minister, was recently shut down by Birmingham Police for serving the homeless in Linn Park. They demanded that he show them a permit or leave.

    1. I would continue feeding the homeless and others in need, get a large group doing it for doing the right thing but if any arrested clog the court system to it’s knees, everyone take a jury trial, juries will let you off.I do see a time coming perhaps soon where the jury trial no longer a option, then time for other options.

      1. Other Options are the only thing that is ever going to change a thing in this country. Working within a corrupt system is only a waste of time and more people are seeing this too.The police state is protected by the bought and paid for whore judges that own the courtroom so whats the point?

        1. The point is to exhaust all non violent options,me personally will feel a lot better when civil war hits this country that at least all non violent options were exercised.
