Mitch McConnell: Nation is ‘better off’ with Patriot Act

Mitch McConnell defended his support for the Patriot Act — specifically, a measure allowing a National Security Agency program to collect phone data of Americans.

The Senate majority leader called the measure “an important tool to prevent the next terrorist attack,” while pledging to continue fighting for it amid calls for it to be changed.

“The nation is better off with an extension of the Patriot Act than not, but we’ll see where the votes go,” the Kentucky Republican said during a Sunday speech at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute in Boston.

The extension called into question is Section 215, the Patriot Act’s counterterrorism measure set to expire on June 1.

McConnell seeks to extend it through 2020, while the USA Freedom Act seeks to scale it back.

The bill, which would scale back the NSA’s access to telephone records, is expected to pass the House and head to the Senate — despite opposition from McConnell.

  1. We’re all better off without Mitch McConnel and a patriot would rather hang the fool than support him.

  2. “The nation is better off with an extension of the Patriot Act than not, but we’ll see where the votes go,” the Kentucky Republican said…”

The votes will “go” where the so-called ‘government’ tells them to.

Quit flogging that dead horse. Even most of the sheeple have figured out the massive fraud you call ‘voting’ is a joke.

    If not much else.

  3. He can’t PROVE the nation is better.
It ISN’T BETTER, it’s in it’s final FREEDOM DEATH THROWS
Math wise the nation is in big problems with EXPONENTS
Mitch McConnell is WRONG and PART OF THE PROBLEM

HE IS NOT OBEYING HIS OATH OF OFFICE.
HE RAISED HIS HAND AND SWORE TO PROTECT AND DEFENT THE CONSTITUTION — HE’S NOT DOING IT

    THAT IS THE PROBLEM
    THAT IS THE PROBLEM

  4. He’s telling the truth, the nation would be better off without the patriot act. BUT…that is exactly why he won’t get rid of it.

Get it? He’s telling us he’s F#@KING US!!!
