PRITCHARD, Ala. – A 70-year-old Alabama woman was handcuffed and hauled off to jail for allegedly failing to mow her lawn.
The woman said police showed up at her door and arrested her. The city claims an arrest warrant was issued because she failed to respond to a citation for overgrown grass and brush, but the woman said she did respond providing documentation proving she no longer owned the property in question.
She spent hours in a jail cell without food, water or her medicine before the matter was sorted out.
The city said they tried to resolve the situation as fast as they could once the mix-up was discovered.

The “mix-up” began by arresting ANYONE for not mowing their lawn.
They could have paid one of their darling dreamers $10 to mow the lawn for the old woman, but instead they paid a bunch of pigs and prison guards a lot more over this stupidity. How many man-hours of wasted money went into this nonsense?

I have an older woman (widow) living 2 doors up from me ..quite a ways down my road very rural
between me and the guy living between us we take turns to be sure her lawn gets mowed , aint killin none of us to do it for our fellow man (woman in this case) I dont get paid, and i dont ever expect to , shes on a fixed income
but for the city to step in like this and make this type of move is deplorable,
where are peoples humanity these days ?

How F*cked up this country has become…. The “Land of the Free”? What a joke that is!. How free is one if they can be dragged off against their will and thrown into jail for not cutting the grass? What if that is how one likes it, and prefers to keep their property that way? It is supposed to be your property, is it not? Goes to show you just whose property it actually is. In 21st Century America, Freedom and Rights are just an illusion; in reality they do not exist.
