Critics have suggested that the bans that started with firearms could end up banning anything and everything the State decided citizens should not be trusted with. Meanwhile, New York has seen some of the most militaristically-armed police forces in the nation.
Now, the state has said that the sale of machetes should be outlawed. Gun rights proponents have said from the beginning that if guns are outlawed, criminals will use whatever other weapons they can get their hands on. But now, after several recent attacks, State Senator Tony Avella said he plans to introduce a bill to ban the possession of long, fixed blades in New York, including the ever-scary, and Hollywood-demonized machete.
“The fact that anyone can easily purchase this potentially lethal tool is just crazy,” the senator said.
The state has long since banned knives such as switchblades and gravity knives, which have nevertheless been normal sights among criminal circles in bigger New York cities. But now, machetes and even butcher knives would be banned.
Anyone with a knife longer than 4 inches – even a simple kitchen knife – would be in violation of an administrative code, and would face up to 15 days in jail and a $300 fine.
A machete could lead to a year in jail.
The bizarre legislation is the second now in a series of police measures that have recently proposed by Avella to translate the will of law enforcement agencies into state law.

Yes I did notice that. That is just a simple pig gutter here. We use that to go threw the throat and into the heart first. To bleed the pig. Then the round part of the edge razor sharp to open the belly. And make the 2 v hacks and tie of the intesten at the anus. Before removing all inside. A good knife there. We have restrictions on them here as well. They are a common knife to see. But we have to check them with security before going in the bank and such places. Now the round nose Asian clever. There is a knife for chopping up a chicken then dicing the vegtetables to stuff it with. Her I see many 7 &; 8 year olds also use it to flip there fried egg over when they cook. Or such. Americans are going to be left totally dependent on the Government if the power goes out and they need to butcher some meat. Bad deal there. I use Felix knifes here. Made by the local blacksmith. Good black hardened steel they are. Keep a edge chopping threw the biggest of bones.
