Mr. Crowley, what went wrong in your head?
Oh, Mr. Crowley, did you talk with the dead?
Your life style to me seemed so tragic
With the thrill of it all
You fooled all the people with magic
You waited on Satan’s call
Mr. Charming, did you think you were pure
Mr. Alarming, in nocturnal rapport
Uncovering things that were sacred manifest on this Earth
Conceived in the eye of a secret
And they scattered the afterbirth
(Solo)
Mr. Crowley, won’t you ride my white horse
Oh, Mr. Crowley, it’s symbolic of course
Approaching a time that is classic
I hear maidens call
Approaching a time that is drastic
Standing with their backs to the wall
Was it polemically sent
I wanna know what you meant
I wanna know
I wanna know what you meant
His stage presence is as exciting cream corn.
😆
Joe, it’s so funny (yeah, not so haha) that you posted this song. I had just read the lyrics to my husband on Thursday, after a drawn out conversation about Crowley. We speculated if he was Barbara Bush’s father, as well as if ozzy was scorning him in his song. I think ozzy thought him (Crowley) to be an insane psychopath, but that’s my interpretation. Thanks for the post. I don’t think ozzy is as evil as many made him out to be ( Biting off rats heads lol). I think he was always trying to point out and expose it for what it really was.
I agree Deb, although I’m of the opinion, other than a couple rants, Ozzy’s been missing the heart and mystique of “Black Sabbath.”
As far as “Mr. Crowley” goes, and I have seen most of his work (not as a fan) but Diggerdan insisted I educate myself and “know thine enemy”. Just breezing through his works will flash Satanic Symbolism and his readings reek of hidden messages and meanings.
Yeah Millard, 70’s “war pigs ” comes to mind. He’s lost it since. Haha
Millard, did you edit before I could respond? I didn’t see diggers reference. lol damn, miss that guy. I’m horrible at picking apart lyrics. Sometimes they just jump out at me.
