The Obama administration said Friday that it was starting a program to provide lawyers for children facing deportation as it scrambles to deal with the soaring number of unaccompanied minors illegally crossing the border from Mexico.
Under the plan, the federal government will issue $2 million in grants to enroll about 100 lawyers and paralegals to represent immigrant children making their way through the immigration court system. Continue reading “Youths Facing Deportation to Be Given Legal Counsel”

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — She was barely 15 and scared at the prospect of being in court. She agreed to plead guilty to truancy. But when Judge Tim Irwin announced what he planned to do with her, the girl known as A.G. screamed in disbelief.
Guards forced the sobbing teen out of the Knox County Juvenile Court and clapped shackles on her legs. She had been struggling with crippling anxiety and what she said was relentless bullying at school. Now she was being led through a county juvenile detention center to a cell with a sliver of a window and a concrete slab with a mattress. For truancy. Texas law enforcement are continuing to enrich themselves using a little-known legal doctrine known as civil forfeiture, according to a new series of investigative reports. Under civil forfeiture, property can be forfeited even if its owner has never been charged with a crime. In these proceedings, accused criminals have more rights than innocent owners and the government sues the property, not its owner. These cases can be so baffling, one Texas Supreme Court Justice recently compared civil forfeiture to Alice in Wonderland and the works of Franz Kafka. But civil forfeiture isn’t just a quirky curiosity—it’s a powerful incentive for law enforcement to take millions. Continue reading “Cops In Texas Seize Millions By ‘Policing for Profit’”

It can be overwhelmingly confusing, figuring out which foods to focus on or avoid with the glut of specialized diets promoted and proselytized today. Obviously, some thrive on these diets or they wouldn’t be so fanatical, but there are those whose health worsens with any of these diets. Truth is, there is no one diet size that fits all.

Sitting inside a medium-security federal prison in Kentucky, Jeremy Hammond looks defiant and frustrated.
“[The FBI] could’ve stopped me,” he told the Daily Dot last month at the Federal Correctional Institution, Manchester. “They could’ve. They knew about it. They could’ve stopped dozens of sites I was breaking into.” Continue reading “How an FBI informant orchestrated the Stratfor hack”

This may come as a surprise to those not living in Las Vegas, but there are more catholic churches than casinos.
Not surprisingly, some worshipers at Sunday Service will give casino chips rather than cash when the basket is passed.
Since they get chips from many different casinos the churches have devised a method to collect the offerings. Continue reading “Do Las Vegas Churches accept gambling chips?”

The Navy released John McCain’s military record after a Freedom of Information Act request from the Associated Press. The record is packed with information on McCain’s medals and commendations but little else. The one thing that the McCain campaign does not want to see released is the record of McCain’s antics on board the USS Forestal in 1967. McCain was personally responsible for the deadliest fire in the history of the US Navy. That catastrophe, with 27 dead and over 100 wounded trumps McCain’s record as a prisoner of war in North Vietnam. Continue reading “Navy Releases McCain’s Records”

Dennis Marx, the shooter who attempted to occupy a Forsyth County court house Friday, has been identified by law enforcement officials as a member of the Sovereign Citizens Movement.
Marx represents a still-small percentage of the anti-government organization that escalates from “paper terrorism” to acts of violence. The group, classified by the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a domestic terrorist organization, maintains the belief that they are not subject to municipal, state and federal systems of law, instead following only “common law.” Continue reading “Sovereign Citizens movement responsible for “paper terrorism,” violence”

I am getting sick and tired of some in the Alternative media sending the wrong narrative about Russia and the Ukrainian crisis. The accounts I am hearing from people who live in eastern and western Ukraine have a different point of view. I am getting annoyed hearing the war drums from some in the alternative media. They’re sounding more like the main stream media.
First I do not buy what the main stream is saying. I do not read them much nor waste my time. I do not give them any attention either. because this gives them a false credibility they do not deserve. I hear them bad mouth Russia and Putin saying this crisis is making Russia a police state. Well Russia is not the aggressor in all this. They are acting in defense of their borders and the safety of their people. Continue reading “Debuking The Russian Myths Coming From The Alternative And Mainstream Media”

The Issue of Depleted Uranium (DU) is extraordinarily important. Though it represents a clear threat to the health of all humanity, and all life forms on planet Earth, it also represents a clear debasement and loss of any moral or ethical standards by the U.S. and by the rest of the world in allowing DU to be used in warfare. Scientists, medical professionals, war veterans, active duty personnel, international lawyers and the global human community are calling for an awareness of this crisis and simply to stop the use of Depleted Uranium, in order to preserve life on the planet.
It is a crisis that is clearly greater than even cancer or HIV/AIDS. It is contributing to an awesome increase in all types of cancers, birth defects, and disease in people, as well as plant and wildlife all over the world. Continue reading “Depleted Uranium – A Crime against Wisdom”
Two years ago, stories of fake tungsten-filled gold coins and bars began to spread; it appears, between the shortage of physical gold (after Asian central bank buying) and the increase in smuggling (courtesy of India’s controls among others) that gold fraud is back on the rise. As SCMP reports, a mainland China businessman, Zhao Jingjun, discovered that HK$270 million of 998kg of gold bars he bought in Ghana had been swapped for non-precious metal bars. What is perhaps even more worrisome, given the probe into commodity-financing deals and the rehypothecation evaporation; these gold bars were shipped to a Chinese warehouse before Zhao was able to confirm the fraud.
