COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) A Thunderbird crashed outside Colorado Springs just after the performance Thursday.

11 News is told the pilot was able to eject from the aircraft. Sources say the pilot was uninjured, but 11 News is still working to confirm this information.

Our partners at The Gazette say that the cause of the crash may have been engine failure.

The crash was reported in the area of Powers and Fontaine, in the Security-Widefield area.

We have a crew working to get more information now. This is a developing story and we will update as more information becomes available.
