A man whose dog was recently shot and killed by Salt Lake City police has posted a video of an exchange he had with officers minutes after the shooting.
Sean Kendall’s 3-year-old Weimaraner, named Geist, was shot in the head last week after officers entered the homeowner’s yard while searching for a missing child.
The video, posted to Kendall’s Facebook page on Wednesday, begins 15 minutes after the shooting, right after Kendall received a call from animal control informing him of the incident.
“Which officer shot my dog? Please,” Kendall asked several officers standing in his front yard when he arrived at the scene.
“We were looking for a lost child,” one officer responded. A neighborhood parent had reported their 3-year-old child missing earlier in the day. The child was later found asleep in the basement of the family’s home.
“And that gives you probable cause to enter a private residence without permission from the owner?” said a livid Kendall, who asked for the names and badge numbers of the officers.
“He was threatened by the dog, and he shot the dog. That’s as simple as it gets,” one officer said.
The officer who shot Geist was not at the scene at the time, though the officers gave Kendall his name.
“So backing up slowly and leaving the residence was not an option?” Kendall asked, his voice growing more agitated.
“I understand it wasn’t you personally,” he said, “but you guys killed my dog.”
“I’ve had this dog for three years. He was my best friend, and he was shot because an officer couldn’t back the fuck up out of my house!”
“Is that against policy? Is that against training?” Kendall asked.
Kendall referenced a spate of cases, often dubbed “puppycides,” in which police officers shoot dogs, often with little provocation.
According to the Salt Lake Tribune, Kendall met with city police officials and wants the officer who shot Geist to be fired.

Cops don’t give a damn about shooting people dead, so what makes anyone think they care even one iota about shooting a dog or other pet dead? One should also note the hypocrisy in the law that states killing a police dog is equal to killing a police officer. When the proverbial shit hits the fan, no one will give one bit when these gestapos starting getting their heads shot off. These officers that are so afraid of dogs in people’s yards, what are they gonna do when the people of this country start shooting them? How will they handle that? Cowards.

This guy was lucky he wasn’t dealing with Round Rock cops. They would have dropped him on the ground and tasered his ass for coming up to them asking questions. These guys were tame compared to other cops. However, that doesn’t mean they weren’t cowards and it doesn’t mean they didn’t know they did wrong. I truly feel sorry for this guy. I hope those cops hang!
NC, I thought of you today as my husband and I drove through Round Rock on our way to Taylor today. We were there to load up some stuff so our son can move back to the Metroplex, he doesn’t care for living down there after all. However, I couldn’t help but think of your experience with the Round Rock cops and hoping that we didn’t get stopped. You just never know anymore, especially with what happened to you when you lived down in that area.

My opinion is that pensions should NOT be supplied to employees by an employer or government entity.
Employers should be responsible for providing enough of a wage so employees can take the responsibility of putting aside resources for their own retirement or they are SOL (s*** out of luck).
Carrots on the end of a stick don’t ensure employees even care about the job they do. The only thing on their mind is the bonus at the end of their working life.
Safety nets at the end of one’s employment is not fair to the rest of society who are (collectively) forced to financially make up for what one didn’t prepare for in the first place when it comes to their own retirement.
Our society is bass-ackwards!!

These are not the police of old. Never heard of police shooting a dog
much less unarmed people. Now instead of a couple of cops handling

As a true sovereign (having allodial title and land patent) the ‘cops’ would be invading a foreign nation and be subjected deadly force if the sovereign should choose.
However, since they no longer follow any letter of the contractual constitution of the people, we are of no obligation to attend to any of their ego-driven control freak edicts at all, ever.
This will never change until sovereigns realize their sovereignty, lose fear, stand their ground, and force change through absolute non compliance to their illusory ‘authority’.
