Police agencies on edge, on guard amid heightened threats

ATLANTA (AP) — Police agencies across the U.S. are on edge and on guard after receiving threats and calls for violence against them on social media in the aftermath of the killings of two black men and the sniper attack that left five officers dead in Dallas. Some departments ordered officers to pair up or more generally said they were heightening security.

Authorities have said the Dallas gunman, who also wounded seven other officers and two civilians, wanted to “exterminate” whites in the aftermath of the killings of Philando Castile in Minnesota and Alton Sterling in Louisiana. And a man who killed one person and wounded three others — including an officer — in Tennessee apparently told investigators he was motivated by the recent killings of black men by police.

Since then, threats ranging from generic promises of violence to specific video postings have been made, only heightening fears of further attacks. In Dallas, authorities received an anonymous threat Saturday, prompting police to tighten up security. Officers swarmed the department’s headquarters, searching for a reported suspicious person in a garage before finally issuing an all-clear.

While some threats have been unspecific and not credible, other promises of violence have been more targeted. In Louisiana, a man was accused of posting a video online showing him in his vehicle behind a police car, saying he wanted to shoot and kill an officer. Police say Kemonte Gilmore flashes a handgun in the video and talks about the slayings of Castile and Sterling.

Police also say a Wisconsin man posted calls on social media for black men to gun down white officers, and a woman in Illinois is accused of threatening in an online video to shoot and kill any officer who pulled her over.

In Mississippi, Waveland Police Chief David Allen told The Sun Herald newspaper threats had come via phone and social media and involved possible gunfire attacks over the weekend. Extra police were to be on duty.

Mawuli Davis, an African-American attorney and activist in Atlanta, said what’s happening is a continuation of events in recent years because there has been no serious dialogue over issues of race and police encounters with black people.

Davis and his associates insist on peaceful protests as a means to an end, and indeed, most protests across the U.S. have gone on without a hint of violence. But until that serious discussion happens, he said he fears “we’re going to continue to see this kind of tragic incident” like the Dallas attack.

“From an activist perspective, you’re seeing a level of frustration and anger that very well may be at a tipping point,” he said.

Tensions between police and African-Americans have been on the rise in recent years amid the high-profile deaths of several black men at the hands of law enforcement. The deaths have fomented unrest from Ferguson, Missouri, to Baltimore and heightened calls for greater accountability of police, particularly in the urban, majority-black neighborhoods they patrol.

While race has not necessarily been a factor in every case, the deaths have become a rallying cry for groups such as Black Lives Matter who are calling for solutions to problems that plague African-American communities, from poor educational opportunities to joblessness to high incarceration rates.

Organizations that monitor hate groups condemned the Dallas attack, with the Southern Poverty Law Center calling it “an act of domestic terrorism.” The gunman, Micah Johnson, followed black militant groups on social media.

Ryan Lenz, online editor and senior writer at the SPLC, told The Associated Press that the number of black separatist groups nearly doubled in 2015, mirroring a similar increase among white hate groups that has come against the backdrop of police killings that make frequent headlines.

While some committing violence may be influenced by hate groups, many who become radicalized do so without direct ties to the groups. Instead, they surf the web and allow their anger to grow in private at home, Lenz said.

“In the last couple of years we’ve seen this violence become an ever-present reality in our lives,” Lenz said. “We are in a polarized political climate right now where the ‘us-versus-them’ mentality has started to reign supreme.”

  1. hi george!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hows that black lives matter thing goin?plenty of funding? right from the irs? ya dont say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Well… Now they know kinda how we feel on a daily basis

I don’t believe it’s going to change their behavior though

  3. Well geez, I can’t imagine why many don’t trust the boys in blue!
They’re our protectors of liberty. (Sarcasm)

Talk about worse than the Gestapo, the best advice is to do what you can to stay off their radar.

They damned well should be “on edge”, the son’s of bitches. They think they can stomp on our rights and not be chased through the woods with torches and pitchforks. (Probably more than a few pistols and long rifles as well)

I’ve had enough but I ain’t gonna go it alone. Any attempt to unify, other than in the field, will be hijacked by any number of power hungry son’s of bitches. When the time comes, and it’s damned near upon us I feel, we’ll all know what the fight is about and have your “bug out bag” at the ready. Rome wasn’t built in a day, nor will our struggle to break these chains of oppression be accomplished in a day. Our world’s goin’ down people, swirling, swirling, swirling. Learn to survive or succumb.

  4. The pigs are nervous? Good. Maybe each of them will think a little harder before treating citizens like garbage. But I doubt it.

    Final score in Dallas:

    Citizens: 1 dead
    Pigs: 5 dead, 7 wounded

That’s pretty lopsided. Think of what would happen if thousands of armed citizens snapped at approximately the same time, deciding that they don’t care about the consequences anymore, and determined to get the satisfaction of revenge at ANY cost. The pigs and Just Us System appear to be doing everything possible to make that happen.

In spite of all the media propaganda, it isn’t just blacks who are angry at the pigs. Anyone with a conscience who’s been paying attention is furious at the way the pigs treat human beings (and animals, for that matter). The pigs’ lies, cover-ups, and smug self-righteousness add insult to injury. If they keep it up, then they’re bound to see more like Chris Dorner, Eric Frein, and Micah Johnson. Honestly, I’m amazed that what we saw in Dallas hasn’t been happening at least once per week.

  5. Citizen alert… citizen alert.
Be on the lookout for any black people between the height of…
    4′ and 6.5 feet tall.
Consider them all armed and dangerous.
    Approach with caution.
Never approach the person if you suspect them of being black.
Instead you should call 911 and contact your closest authority.
Never take the risk of approaching these pre-crime felons into your own hands.
    #YourLivesMatter
Oh…and by the way…keep an eye out for those Chinese and Mexican muthrfkrs too!
We’ll have a public service announcement pertaining to their status of being used as fear forks shortly.

  6. I never met a cop I liked. As far as I’m concerned they can all die, every last one of the bastards. When the shit starts LEOs will be the first target. I feel sorry for the people that think we need pigs to protect us, they general love cops and defend their actions at every opportunity, these people will wind up targets as well. The only pig I need is the pig iron in my holster!

    1. Support for the pigs among the general public is possibly even more disgusting than the pigs themselves. Stinking loyalists…

It’s especially revolting when grown, able-bodied “men” lick police jackboots and look to them for protection. Such servility is nauseating.

I’ve heard that testosterone levels have been dropping in males over the past couple of decades (possibly due to environmental toxins), and I wonder if that has something to do with it. No doubt media propaganda also plays a role.

  7. The enemy of my enemy…
It will be a pleasure to watch them kill one another and then shoot the survivor.

  8. just remember folks that law inforcement IS the largest organized
street gang in amerika. there is no more officer friendly
he wants to bust a cap into our asses for little or no reason.

  9. Blah Blah Blah. Screw the cops they get assaulted often it’s the nature of their job for gods sake. The ZOG bot shooters and dead cops will ensure a much more militarized police force under FEDERAL CONTROL!

Back on target remember that HiIldabeast is on the ZOG fast track to the presidency. If you think the communist dung heap obongo is bad ya ain’t seen nothing yet.

Good luck to all of us who are prepared!

  10. I know you all hate cops but do you blame them now? Police are trained to be AGGRESIVE by Homeland Sec, FBI, Natl Guard for starters. Govt gave them the equip to use. Have you looked at the vehicles used these days? This is all in the plan to take away weapons they will find a way. Im sure most of you have one, do you know anyone irresponsible? I sure dont, my whole life i been around them. In my opinion those wanting to take them away have to things, 1 take away guns and 2 False Flags to make it happen. These Riots will get worse before Convention and there, shoot i dont think there will be an election. They will riot is into Martial Law or something. all these victims had committed crimes in the first place, no one remembers that. Did they deserve to be shot? No, but they werent innocent either.

  11. Operation Gladio: A Strategy of Tension…continues.

I’m going to look on the bright side. Since they blew the guy up with a “robot bomb”, I won’t have to read about another fake trial.
At least he had his explosive-proof wallet with him so his ID could be found.
I’m sure he was all like “Hey. it’s time for me to go kill some cops,,,whoops! Almost forgot my ID.”

Explosive proof wallets…Don’t leave home without ’em!

  12. Good. Let the #BLM crew attack the cops. Less work for us when things go south. If the cops were really “on edge”, they wouldn’t be breaking people’s chops.

“Instead, they surf the web and allow their anger to grow in private at home, Lenz said.”

Let me guess: The only answer is for all gun owners to undergo psychological screening by a doctor who thinks all gun owners are crazy.

  13. So what happened to the other 2 or 3 gunmen? They just disappeared, huh? Not it’s only 1 guy who did it even though everyone at the office today was wondering what happened to the other 2 or 3 gunmen that they stated at the very beginning.

I mean everyone was saying that they heard 1 person set a bomb off, the other was a sniper and the other shot a cop at point blank range and they even saw a video that showed it. Yet, the MSM still says that there was only 1.

It makes no friggin sense to anyone. I mean they were able to fool people last time, but even the plain sheeple or those slightly in the know know that the MSM is lying. It’s ridiculous. I mean basically everyone at the office wanted to know what happened to the other 2 or 3 gunmen more than this Micah character. I mean it’s so in your face now that these Commie bastards can’t use the MSM to hide the truth anymore.

In addition to that, everyone wanted to know when Hitlery was going to be put away. I think they were more concerned with that than the Dallas shooting thing. Their distraction clearly did not work even on the sheeple because people are still pushing for someone to do something to that bitch. They don’t even care about anything else.
