The felon suspected of stealing three vehicles and holding multiple people at gunpoint shot at officers while attempting to elude them.
The 35-year-old man was driving through North Seattle when he fired out his window at officers, after an officer attempted to disable the stolen Chevy Camaro he was driving.
In a video released by the Seattle Police Department Monday night, officers can be heard telling others nearby to back off after the suspect fired at them.
The pursuit, which began in a coffee shop in the 90 block of Pike Street, ended in the Wedgwood neighborhood. An officer collided head on with the suspect’s vehicle to disable it. As more officers arrived the suspect attempted to drive away, but was shot and killed.
Twelve officers have been placed on paid administrative leave in connection with the shooting.
