Police spray tear gas as hundreds protest after George Floyd’s arrest, death in Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS — About 24 hours after George Floyd’s death, hundreds packed the streets of Minneapolis, many gathering at the intersection where Floyd was pinned to the ground by police officers shortly before he died.

Floyd was arrested Monday evening after officers responded to a call about an alleged forgery in progress. Video from bystanders shows Floyd handcuffed and pinned to the ground and one police officer’s knee pressing against his neck. Floyd pleaded he was in pain and couldn’t breathe. Shortly after, he died at a nearby hospital.

Four police officers involved in the incident were fired Tuesday, Minneapolis police said. State and federal authorities are now investigating the case.

Tuesday evening, protesters begun at the intersection Floyd was last recorded alive and later marched to one of the police precincts, CNN affiliate WCCO reported.

“We’re here to let them know this can’t be tolerated, there will be severe consequences if they continue to kill us. This will not go on another day,” a protester told the affiliate.

Police spray tear gas at protesters

After a crowd of protesters turned unruly, police sprayed tear gas to disperse the crowd, Minneapolis Police Department spokesperson John Elder told CNN.

CNN’s team reported some demonstrators wheeled a shopping cart full of rocks just outside the precinct and dumped it on the ground for people to throw.

A police cruiser’s back window was shattered when someone threw something at it, according to CNN’s observations.

Police outside Minneapolis Police Department’s 3rd Precinct fired what appeared to CNN’s team on the scene to be non-lethal projectiles at demonstrators chanting “No justice, no peace,” and “I can’t breathe,” which were some of the last words the man uttered.

Elder said “foam marking rounds,” but no rubber bullets were fired during the incident.

  1. These officers need to be charged for murder. Period. Here’s DA Mike Freeman’s number: 612-348-5550. You can call and demand an arrest & charge for the four officers involved in the murder of #GeorgeFloyd. We need to set a precedent or his won’t stop.

    1. That might work, but (and I hate to say this since I hate violence unless it is done to restore the BoR) but vengeance might be necessary (yesterday I mentioned Albanian blood-feud, but the problem is how far will skin-for-skin go before it gets out of hand?).

    2. Sorry, Charlie, but these blackwater assassins should have been taken out on that street and the man should not have died. They don’t give a f-k how many phone calls they get. Just like the murderers of Kelly Thomas, James Boyd, Miriam Carey, Tamer Rice, Lavoy Finicum, and especially Eric Garner who was murdered in much the same style.
This will not stop until we the people physically stop it ourselves and every time there is the big protest, the lawsuit, and the acquittal, they will only grow bolder.
Carry whatever weapons you can, everywhere you go, and be ready to fight at the drop of a hat for your life and that of your brother or sister.
The more phone calls just demonstrates the more people ignorant enough to think there is some way to talk their way out of this.
      Fight or run, American.

  2. Since LEOs in USA are collectively out of control tyrants , wonder why they don’t worry about a citizen / exMil uprising ?

Not a FF op or SHook or Smith-Munt hoaxes all put in by governments, media and the pigs to justify shit like this

A shooter on every roof top a gun in ever back
The pigs don’t know the “laws” they enforce yet they abuse the people with impunity

    Oh , you’ll fear us alright !
Because you’ve created the fear that we will deliver on
Now the hunters become the hunted
And that’s a way different feeling than they ever knew
The people have nothing to lose , there will be no turning back
LEOs are mostly absolute scumbags and will be removed by extreme prejudice
Because they pushed it into that corner
    Not we the people
No one MAKES you act like this
You CHOOSE to act this way
    It’s willful behavior

What you all have done to us
Will now be done to you
Are you ready ?,to tell your family to have a nice life ? You know the one you forgot about protecting with your behavior.

I actually feel great this morning
Because I told a pig to get a fucing life a real job and quit being a tyrant

He had a car pulled over and I had to wait at a light
It was a good time as any

Would have been an exciting morning had he decided to come after me

  3. We have every right to carry a weapon and use it to protect our people period. Henry’s right, if you would have put a bullet in that pigs head, they wouldn’t have been able to touch you in court. No jury would ever convict, no judge would live more than ten minutes if he tried to rule a no jury trial.

PIGS ARE WALKIN VERY THIN ICE RIGHT NOW!

Times ARE CHANGING PEOPLE, as this shit continues, the 2nd article just becomes STRONGER NOT WEAKER.

    1. Oh yeah, when these pigs go down for murder, we will be waiting for justice on all others Henry rattled off above, including Levoy Finicum, murder never goes away, that pig fk who murdered him will hang, along with all the rest, our people will never rest until all the scum bags account..

  4. Yes perhaps LaVoy finicum murderer will be taken to task but who sent the assassin? Who signed off on that? Who is the person or persons that control the Vermon that is sent to kill us with impunity ? Will they be hunted down also? The cops / feds / whatever are only the tool, who controls the tool?

    1. Just what the f-k would “taking the murder to task” entail, if not going after everyone involved?
Yeah, we know who sent the f-king assassin: Kate Brown, under orders from Hillary Clinton. And we know about the foreign mercenaries.
You obviously haven’t read this site or you would understand. No offense intended, but your comment here is just a little bit asinine.

  5. Taking to task would be taken to the gallows and have there floor fall out from under them. What I want to know is if the sender or the assassin’s would share a similar fate?
