SC student arrested for recording school cop’s violent assault on classmate sitting in her desk

Raw Story – by BETHANIA PALMA MARKUS

A South Carolina high school student who witnessed her classmate being physically abused by a school resource officer was arrested and held on $1,000 bond for filming the incident.

Niya Kenny, 18, told WLTX she was shocked and disturbed when she saw Officer Ben Fields flipping her female classmate out of her desk and pinning her to the ground for refusing to leave class.

“I was screaming ‘What the f, what the f is this really happening?’ I was praying out loud for the girl,” Kenny told WLTX. “I just couldn’t believe this was happening I was just crying and he said, since you have so much to say you are coming too. I just put my hands behind my back.”

The video, posted Monday by New York Daily News writer Shaun King, shows Fields wrapping his arms around the neck of the pony-tailed girl. He then flips her desk over backwards and throws her onto the ground, saying “put your hands behind your back.”

Kenny said her classmate is only about 5’6″ and said she never saw anything like it before.

“A man used that much force on a little girl, a big man, like 300 pounds of full muscle,” Kenny told the station. “I was like no way, no way, you can’t do that to no little girl.”

Her classmate wasn’t participating in math class at Spring Valley High School in Columbia, and was asked to leave by the teacher. The girl refused, so the teacher called an administrator, who called Fields.

Kenny’s mom, Doris Kenny, said her daughter was just standing up for the girl and said Field’s actions were excessive.

Niya Kenny was charged with “disturbing school,” which her mother questions.

“Who was really disturbing the school?” Doris Kenny asked. “Was it my daughter or the officer who came in to the classroom and did that to the young girl?”

  1. In NO way did this girl “disturb the school” by merely filming the disturbance that was already taking place or by verbally protesting what she saw.

The girl who was assaulted created a minor disturbance, which the pig unnecessarily escalated into a major disturbance. The other girl did not a thing wrong. He arrested her out of pure spite, and this should be added to the list of criminal charges and lawsuits directed at his pig ass.

  2. Disturbing School. Did the building file a complaint? Did the police or anyone interview the building and ask it if it was disturbed? Did the building seek counseling because it was emotionally overwrought? Does the building have PTSD now?

  3. “A man used that much force on a little girl, a big man, like 300 pounds of full muscle,” Kenny told the station.”

    Not a man.

    A psychopathic gorilla.

POS like that needs to be beaten with a Louisville Slugger until he’s in a wheelchair for life.

  4. It makes a guy compelled to just walk up and “bitch slap” all these pigs into the compactor of a garbage truck for proper disposal. It’s not just what this a$$ did to that girl, it’s the total effort to minimize the importance of this issue, whether they be school pigs or pigs on patrol. So they fired him. Big deal, he apparently had a long history of abuse.
“This type of behavior will not be tolerated when filmed.” said “Knuckles”, Police Chief.

  5. Those students failed indoctrination. Shame on the teacher. Not doing as told gets the crap pounded out of you, that’s just life. That kindly Peace Officer was merely posing a reallife consequence to those children.
Mind y’all don’t fart in church, repentence for that be more than an ass whooppin, fer shirr.

    1. Yes, teenagers aren’t oppositional at all! They all behave perfectly, except those psychopaths that go to “Police School”. (Sarcasm) There’s way better ways to handle that situation, unfortunately, their Israeli training precludes them from any peaceful resolution. Tell me, in this day and age, who, other than psychopaths, would sign up?

  6. “Niya Kenny was charged with “disturbing school,” which her mother questions.”

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! WTF??? Is that even a charge? Did they just make that charge up on their own without public approval? That’s like being charged with “Moving tables” or “Standing on your desk”. WTF??? These people going along with this charge are completely off the wall insane.

Meanwhile, the cop doesn’t get arrested for assault, but merely gets fired. WTF??? So you’re saying, I could beat someone to a pulp and walk away, but if I “move tables” or “stand on my desk”, I could face prison time with a $1000 bond? WTF kind of logic and world are we living in?

    Wake the Hell up!!!

Next thing you know they will be charging you for “disturbing road” or “disturbing TV”.

    Unfrigginbelievable…..
