Administrators at a school in the South Suburbs of Chicago are up in arms over a state law (House Bill 0183) that requires schools to post small signs announcing that guns cannot be carried in schools.
The new law relates to a new concealed-carry license law, reports the SouthtownStar, a suburban newspaper. Schools in Illinois did not allow guns previously. Now, though, schools — and churches, government agencies, liquor stores and certain other organizations — must post 4-by-6-inch stickers as visible reminders that guns are forbidden on premises.
Many schools in the Chicago area — and, presumably, other parts of the state — have already posted the small stickers in compliance with state law. Others expect to post them over the next couple weeks.
Some school officials aren’t happy about the stickers because they contain a very basic image of a gun.
“It is bothersome to have to post a sticker of a gun that says, ‘Hey, folks, leave your guns at home,’” Theresa Nolan, principal of Tinley Park High School, told the SouthtownStar.
Nolan stressed that she is very concerned with “safety and security” and concerned that, somehow, someone could wrongly interpret an image of a gun emblazoned with the universal sign for prohibiting something.
“I think the general public will be alarmed by it and wonder if people have been allowed to bring guns to school in the past,” Nolan also fretted.
She said she would prefer “something more subtle.”
“You can’t look at this (sticker) and not think about Sandy Hook,” the principal added.
Sandy Hook is, of course, a reference to Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., where 20-year-old Adam Lanza massacred 20 young children and six adults.
Randy Couwenhoven, an associate principal at Tinley Park High, agreed.
“The intent of the stickers is to inform those with a concealed-carry license that they are not allowed to bring a gun into this location,” told the local paper. “It is a reminder to this particular audience, an audience that should already know this.”
Administrators at other Chicago-area schools take a different view.
“It is not necessarily something you’d want on a school building,” said Paul Enderle, a superintendent in Oak Lawn. “But it correlates with the law, and I think if it ultimately helps to keep schools safe, that’s the objective.”
Illinois was the last state to maintain a full concealed-carry ban in the United States. A federal appeals court struck down the ban in December 2012.

No kidding bulldog…I get to the point where nothing surprises me anymore, but sure enough, something surprises me. My head is spinning..
Know what I did awhile back? I put an ad on craigslist saying: Free: “this is a gun free home” signs for your yard. They are pleasing to look at and fit into the environment surroundings of your home, I will even come put them in your yard for you. I got no takers, so a week later I put in another ad that said “I was giving away free “this is a gun free home” signs and I didnt get any takers, and now I have all these signs I bought sitting in my garage 🙂
I think I got my point across.
p.s. you probably already know I dont have any signs, but it was an interesting experiment. 🙂
Of course, none of them want people to know that they have no guns, but they are too scared to actually own one. Those types of people will be eaten within a month of “SHTF”. It just stinks that they are trying to take us down with them.
I agree with you that I think I have seen all of the stupid things that can be done, but they always amaze me with more each day. It would be funny if it wasn’t destroying us.
only an idiot would think about sandy hook when they see that sticker,and that sticker wouldn’t have prevented sandy hook no matter how many where posted anywhere. I am surprised it is against the law to take a gun to church what business is it of legislators to say what churches allow to go on where they gather to worship.
what is funny about that sticker is here in texas its meaningless, CHL holders are told to ignore this unlawfull display.the only sign to worry about must clearly display the ” in accordance with 30.06 penal code firearms not permited, etc,etc.”but regardless its unlawful to carry into a school anyways so a sign is not needed.
I went to safelite and dropped my truck off to get a windshield this morning. After setting it up I told the owner that I needed to go retrieve my gun from my truck before he took it back. He looked at me with a fearful expression like why do you have a gun in your truck. I tried explaining to him why. He was unaware that in Louisiana your vehicle is an extension of your home. He asked if I had a concealed carry and I told him the Second Amendment was my concealed carry permit. He had no idea what I was talking about.
On a good note, there was an older gentlemen waiting for his truck and when he heard what I said he said “Amen”. We talked for a while about the state of our country and he assured me that he will never turn in his guns and that we will have to fight them. He is awake to what is going on. It sounds like we are running about 50/50 down here. That is enough to defeat the communists. 🙂

This is proof positive that the principal has been brainwashed beyond the reaches of any re-education or deprogramming effort. The students would be lucky if he were hit by a truck tomorrow, because that’s probably the only way he can be helped.
And of course, “The Daily Caller” is a useless rag that can’t be relied upon by anyone to deliver any degree of accuracy in news. They’re obviously part of the Zionists’ brainwashing campaign, and Eric Owens is one of the cheap, dirty, lying whores that works for them.
Anyone who merely looks at the Sandy Hoax shooting can see that it didn’t happen. Anyone who says it did is either an idiot, or a liar, but in either case, doesn’t deserve any of your time or attention.
