SPD officers come under fire during drive-by shootingKOMO

SEATTLE — Three Seattle Police officers came under fire as they were investigating a separate case moments before a drive-by shooting occurred Wednesday night.

Officers were at a home in the 4200 block of S. Eddy Street for a reported domestic violence incident around 10 p.m. when they heard gunfire outside. As the officers went outside the home to investigate, they found themselves in the middle of more gunfire.

Two cars were speeding toward the officers, with gunmen in the rear vehicle firing toward the lead vehicle and the officers in the direct line of fire, Seattle police said.

Three officers returned fire, but both vehicles escaped and neither the officers nor those in the vehicles were struck.

Despite all the gunfire, no one was injured.

“We are very grateful and thankful for the fact that they did not get hit,” said Drew Fowler with the Seattle Police Department.

DeSean Halley heard the gunfire and called police, not realizing they were already here.

“We were just glad we were inside and we’re also glad no one got hurt as far as we know,” he said.

Halley called the night of violence unusual for his normally quiet neighborhood.

“To have this happen, it’s not exactly anyone’s idea of what they want to do to ring in the new year,” he said.

Police are still looking for the gunmen, and the three officers who fired the shots have been placed on administrative leave, as per standard policy in officer-involved shootings.

“Today the 3 blind mice/pigs opened fire on two vehicles that where shooting at one another while driving down a Seattle roadway. Luckily not a single bullet struck ANYTHING and the officers are now on paid vacation while the Seattle Police Dept. investigates why cops feel they can add to public UN-saftey by discharging firearms haphazardly with in quiet neighborhood.

Today young men on acid realized…ah screw it
    Here’s Tom with the weather”
