‘Shelter in Place’ order given to DC Navy Yard personnel.

A gunman has fired three shots at the Washington Navy Yard, U.S. Navy officials announced Monday.

The shooting is still active, a public information officer for the Metropolitan Police Department said. Police officers are currently on the scene.  

An FBI spokeswoman said there’s at least one victim. The U.S. Navy also confirmed on Twitter that they’re looking for a gunman.

The Washington Navy Yard, according to its website, is the Navy’s oldest shore establishment. It’s home to the chief of Naval Operations and is also headquarters for the Naval Historical Center and numerous naval commands.

  1. I guess it’s too early to know what happened here, but hopefully we’re going to find out that a Patriot opened up on a few traitors. (a likely scenario in a navy yard shooting)
