Columbia, SC (WLTX) — Richland County deputies will take place in training exercises along with the 3rd Special Forces Group out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The late-night and pre-dawn exercises will run from Friday May 8 through Friday, May 15.
Military and sheriff’s department vehicles will be traveling in the Lower Richland County community near Eastover and Hopkins, in Elgin near Screaming Eagle Road, and North Richland County in the Monticello Road area. The sheriff’s department says people in those areas may also hear ordinance being set off or shots being fired. They say those will be simulations or blanks and do not pose a risk to the community.
Sheriff Leon Lott says the department’s Special Response Team will take part in the exercises with the 3rd Special Forces Group. Lott says deputies will provide simulated scenarios for the military. Lott says Richland County provides an ideal location for training that cannot be replicated at Fort Bragg.
The military training and/or working with local cops is cause for concern, but it’s nothing we weren’t expecting.
It’s just an indication that what we always knew would happen, is about to begin. It’s time to make sure you have all your ducks in a row.
Cop intrusion teams are not manical enough – how about we bring in military special forces to work w/ local cop goon squads in some private resident raids.
