DEVELOPING: A female student at a Connecticut high school was stabbed in the throat by a fellow student because she refused to go to Friday night’s prom with him, sources told The Connecticut Post.

Jonathan Law High School in Milford was put on lockdown Friday morning and students were sent home after the 7:14 a.m. stabbing. A former faculty member from the school told FoxNews.com that the suspect was arrested. The Post reported that the victim is at a nearby hospital and is in critical condition.

Police said that the attack was an isolated incident and that other students are safe. The school’s prom is scheduled for tonight, the report said. Students identified the victim as Maren Sanchez, an honor student and swim team manager who was heavily involved with community service, particularly causes like underage drinking and veterans’ services.

A junior at the school told FoxNews.com that a teacher who witnessed the attack said Sanchez was asked to the prom by the attacker inside a stairwell at the school. Sanchez, who has a boyfriend, said no to the date, and the suspect began to strangle her, the student said. He pushed her down a flight of stairs and stabbed her.

Two male teachers eventually took the suspect to the principal’s office until police arrived. The student said she saw the suspect being handcuffed and he “looked angry.”

Police would not immediately confirm a motive in the attack.

Students at the school said that they were told initially to stay in their classrooms. The rumor had been that a fellow student was choked, The New Haven Registerreported.

Carman declined to disclose other information, but police were expected to release more details later in the morning.

  1. How romantic.

We’re not getting the whole story here. There’s no way to justify slashing the girl’s throat, but a date rejection wasn’t the only reason.

    1. Chicks dig an Alpha, confident and aggressive male… but I think a line may have been crossed… You’re supposed to stop at clubbing them in the head and dragging them off by the hair. Beheading them is really a lose-lose situation…

  2. I suppose the moron governor of Connecticut will say that all knives in the state will be registered for public safety.
    Constitution State – not likely.

  3. Seriously, why do they constantly have to use that word, “LOCKDOWN” every time an incident happens. The word is being used completely incorrectly. Why not under investigation or quartered off? Why must they constantly use the police state word, “LOCKDOWN” for everything? They make it sound like there are rounding up prisoners in a prison or something. I mean that’s what the definition of a lockdown is, isn’t it, the last time I checked?

    “lockdown
: the confinement of prisoners to their cells for all or most of the day as a temporary security measure”

    http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/lockdown

I don’t get how people can think something is a lockdown when they don’t even know what a lockdown is.

I guess they are using that damn Communist dictionary again. Gotta keep promoting and instilling that false fear and terror and prison state mentality, now, don’t we?

    Unfrigginbelievable.

      1. Hey, whenever I hear the word, “Lockdown”, I’m looking around for potentially escaped convicts being rounded up or prevented from leaving their prison cells or something, not some innocent people or even some random guy who just committed a crime in an area.

    1. sorry, NC, but that’s all part of the conditioning process. They’re trying to get you to accept that the whole country is a prison, the cops are the brutal guards, and “lockdowns” are necessary whenever there’s an altercation, just like in any other prison.

Our verbal behavior is directly linked to our physical behavior, so they’re always working on the language too.

  4. 1.ingenious humor: the apt, clever, and often humorous association of words or ideas, or a capacity for it

    Wit

  5. Some people don’t handle rejection well.

(If that’s the real reason he slashed her)

Also, I heard last night that she died.

    1. Yep @1, I have known many that cannot handle rejection very good. They need to grow up them type do to do.
Yes, they were probobly spoiled as childeren and carried their childish self centeredness into adult hood as adult child syndrome I think.
That is too bad she died 🙁 . She would have probobly would have been a good speaker – from her experiences – on these kind of BS situations.
I do kind of wonder if she didnt lead this guy on or something if ya all know what I am sayin` – we all know how superficial people are/can be I am sorry to say – as most people are self centered self indulgent bastards from what I have seen and I have seen both sides of the coin I have and I don`t like either side of that coin.
People kind of suck my book for the most part. most of the time anyway.

      1. You never can tell anymore with the indoctrinated/brainwashed high school kids these days, digger. There’s probably more to it than that, but we’ll not hear of it through the MSM. We here at FTT might scrape together enough info/evidence to get it right, though.

It’s what we do best. 🙂

        1. Yep, #1, we are good here @ FTTWR I do know #1. Yes we all that have been here for so long know that too and we are serious about good honest info – something we here can be damn proud of, I know I am 😉
Yes #1, I think that there is more to this one too. I hope it was worth it for this punk to cut her throat damn it. Now he will be given a lot of time to be thinking about what happened.
Yep, tptb love those like this guy that did this.
