The Beginning of Propaganda

I remember when I was a child in junior high school, once a month or so the local, or state police would come to our school and give speeches and answer questions, mostly defending their jobs.

The speeches were along the lines that, it is an evil world out there, and you guys really don’t know how bad it is. The subjects ranged from child sacrifice to ouija board serial killers.(real thing!!) Only to go home and be fed horror TV by the likes of Amityville horror and Creepshow, which was fairly decent reinforcement of what these” law enforcement officers “were telling us.

It eventually got so bad that the civics class voted and gave these sessions a name for their very own; we called them “THE COPAGANDA CONFERENCES.  For that one thing, we all got “A’s”  in Civics.

  1. I remember those days, they used to do the drug thing at my school, scare the hell out of you with the drug display, then I would go home and smoke a joint.

  2. The cops in my town couldn’t be pried apart from their donuts long enough to come to my school. They were afraid of learning something?
Now, the school system has put in place, THE FIRST FACIAL RECOGNITION SECURITY SYSTEM, at substantial cost to taxpayers, and it ain’t pretty. The school building was erected in the early 60’s, and we all used to joke about it’s prison-like appearance. Hmm.

    1. MY OLD “SCHOOL BUILDING” LOOKED LIKE AN INSANE ASYLUM. IT HAD OLD POT BELLIED COAL (FATSO) HEATERS IN EACH ROOM, AND 2 EACH IN THE GYM AND LUNCH ROOM.THE OLDER BOYS GOT KEYS TO THE SCHOOL AND WOULD GET THERE EARLY (5 OF US AT A TIME) TO BUILD THE FIRES. WE HAD A JANITOR, BUT IN ORDER TO HAVE TIME TO HEAT THE ROOMS, THE FIRES HAD TO BE BUILT PRETTY EARLY, BEFORE TIME FOR HIM TO START WORK. HE HAD A FARM TO TEND TOO, AS WELL AS THE SCHOOL JOB.
