I don’t know if I can fully empathize with this for I have not been in a war zone where I had to run from bombs raining down on me. But I am forcing myself to try, to try to imagine what that might feel like. Agony. Terror. Profound fright. Many of us don’t actually know. We just don’t know, but without attempting to stand in their shoes this just becomes another sad and infuriating story, another report of bad and horrifying news. And even if we do sense what it’s like to be the prey of a ruthless killing-machine, now what? What is the next step for a human being who sees and understands such an attack of evil? Do we wait for that evil to be in our own backyard? Seems we do. Let this serve nothing less than readying us for what we have to do. I wonder who would I be if I were over there? More than who I am over here?
