Three SWAT teams, officers from six police departments descend on Door Co. home

TOWN OF FORESTVILLE – Multiple SWAT teams and dozens of officers from six police departments descended on a home in Forestville Tuesday morning.

Police had a warrant to search the house and buildings on the property for a state investigation led by the Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation, according to a news release from the Door County Sheriff’s Office.

There were no arrests and the investigation is ongoing, said Pat McCarty, chief deputy of the Door County Sheriff’s Office.

The large police presence in the 8900 block of Door County J prompted multiple telephone calls to the department throughout Tuesday from people wanting to know what was happening, McCarty said.

“This is not our investigation,” McCarty said. “We wanted to let people know it was a search warrant.”

The occupants of the home were cooperative and officers were at the scene from 9:30 a.m. until late afternoon, he said.

Departments assisting at the scene were  Door County SWAT team, Door County Emergency Services, Green Bay Police Department SWAT team, Winnebago County SWAT team, the Door-Kewaunee County Drug Task Force and the Sturgeon Bay Police Department.

More information will be released later, McCarty said.
