Don’t know if this has been discussed, so I thought I’d offer what I’m doing for the 3 AM visit. I’m installing these brackets on the inside of all my house doors.
When the jack boots try to ram any of my house doors, their rams will bounce back, giving me time to respond and blow their asses away.
I’m using 3 1/2 inch screws with washers on the heads, and 3 sets per door.
Any suggestions if they happen to show up in an armored military vehicle with a 14-foot battering ram?
Of course, but I don’t reveal such data and tactics in a public forum, you know, ” showing all your cards & loose lips ” . . . Funny you should mention marbles. I have a ton, and Mickey’s 40oz bottles work good too. Oh, and for those that don’t know, pile a ton of stuff by your windows. They can break them, but when they step in, sitting ducks . . . Not to mention the noise alert . . .

Mark, The first thing they will do is shoot a flash bang into your window, so be aware. You can screw eye hooks around the windows and place netting over the window on to the hooks, it will stop the flash bang. Hope this helps. Get on it, its coming!!
Got the plywood set up for the front window. Will leave 18″ at the top for viewing, and deep-screwed down tight ( use at least 1/2″ washers so the screw heads won’t pull through the plywood if forced in ) into the frame studs . Got my ear plugs next to my Russian Gas Mask ( NBC ), right in front of my M4 – 5.56×45 NATO, .41 Mag S&W, and .12 Gauge 00 Buck, all in arm’s reach 😉

install window film on the inside ,, the glass will shatter , but the FB will bounce back off and not penetrate , at least not that window the first time
could you just see the look on their faces when the FB lands at their feet and goes off ..man I’d pay money to watch that
A final bracket consideration. If you have molding on the inside of your door frame, and you wish to use a 2×4 with said bracket, you will need to trim / cut-out the door molding strip to accommodate the 2×4..
Me ? I’m using 4 sections of 3/4″ PVC, taped together, with dry-wall screw blocks. Your visualization required here.
Won’t say more than, time you can buy, might keep you from dying. But you MUST have your environment TACTICALLY nailed, ie home, property, neighborhood, etc . . . Might have to get mobile, jump a fence with 10 mags on your belt. Fire and move, fire and move . ..
it wont work, you need to absorb the impact-force.
one way would be to put springs or rubber blocks between the screws and the brackets.
