Today is 1st National Law Enforcement appreciation day

Fox 2 Now

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Friday marks law enforcement appreciation day. The holiday started by the FBI National Academy  to thank officers across the country who take risks to protect their communities.

Every day 780,000 police officers put on a badge nationwide, going to work in the most unknown extreme conditions and dangers. Friday is our day to thank them.

It`s been particularly hard for law enforcement in recent months as a stigma and negativity get associated with their call to protect and serve. So, wear blue, post something on Facebook, or have your children make a card or write a letter. Something so small that brightens the world of those who do so much.

  1. I guess this is something to run damage control for the rogue cops/sheriffs that is grossly under reported in the first place. It would make a great skit for SNL though!

  2. Never met a cop that was drafted against his will to be a cop. They ALL took test, filled out applications an busted their ass to get the cushy job. An we can never hear the end of ‘risking their lives to keep us safe’. BULLSHIT. Ever see a cop with a dirty uniform from working? Ever see a cop with a shabby car. Ever see a cop with blisters on his hands?

  3. What’s wrong with national thank your cop day? When you see a cop, thank them for not shooting you first, because you made an offensive hand motion (hand shake) towards an officer.

Ah. the irony, What’s next National Incarceration Day?
