Trump remittance plan would violate Mexican rights: Mexico cenbank

Donald Trump’s proposal to force Mexico to pay for his planned border wall by threatening to block remittances from illegal immigrants would be a major violation of Mexicans’ rights, Mexico’s central bank governor said on Tuesday.

The Republican presidential hopeful’s campaign said last week that if elected in November, Trump would use a U.S. anti-terrorism law to cut off such money transfers unless Mexico made a one-time payment of $5 billion to $10 billion for the wall.

“The remittances are the property of the people that make them, and they have every right to be able to carry out international transfers,” Carstens told reporters. “So it would be a serious violation of the property rights of our fellow citizens abroad, and this measure would be completely unjust.”

  1. Let’s be perfect clear. ONLY citizens of these UNITED STATES OF AMERICA have rights. ALL others are illegal trespassers. The monies they have stolen. Therefore it is the right a sovereign government to confiscate these monies and apply them as deemed fit.

ALL illegal aliens should be paying for their keep here in the US.
    They can always go home!

  2. Jeez….look at the size of that mtherfker.
Looks like he’s living high on the hog off the blood and sweat of the slaves.
He almost fills the whole picture.

  3. LETS SEE…… WHAT “PEOPLE” COME UNDER THE BILL OF RIGHTS?NATURAL BORN AND NATURALIZED…………..GO… HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FIGHT FER YER OWN DAMN COUNTRY!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. “The remittances are the property of the people that make them, and they have every right to be able to carry out international transfers,”

Sorry, fat-boy, but it’s not that simple. Wetbacks aren’t “undocumented immigants”; they’re un-apprehended felons, and as such, they have NO rights whatsoever. Furthermore, every country has a right to stop their money from being exported.

  5. Congress can do this right now — just pass a 2% federal tax on alll monies wired out of the US by commercial firms, like Western Union or B of A. Obviously they don’t want to do this, or they would have thought of it.

Mr Carsten’s statement is funny. Legal Americans get taxed on their monies even though they ‘belong’ to us. This would just start to level the playing field for those who don’t pay income taxes.
