The US Ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, has announced he’s received a ‘Defender of Israel’ award – from prominent US pastor John Hagee, and his organisation, ‘Christians United for Israel.’
Pastor Hagee is a popular American TV-evangelist. He’s famous for his support of Israel – and is the first non-Jew to receive an award from one of the world’s oldest Jewish organisations.
But he’s also known for having some controversial ideas about how the state of Israel came to be.
