Walmart store closing in Brandon raising questions and doubt

WFLA 8 News – by Jeff Patterson

BRANDON FL (WFLA) – A Walmart store closing in Brandon is getting a lot of attention and a great deal of speculation by conspiracy lovers.

Walmart announced it is closing the store due to plumbing issues.

The store closing now means that more than 400 Walmart employees will have to find work someplace else.

A statement from the company reads:

“As part of an effort to ensure all of our stores are fully serving the needs of our customers we regularly assess the conditions of our stores. Due to ongoing plumbing issues that will require extensive repairs we are temporarily closing the Valrico/Brandon store. We will immediately begin the process to address these issues and intend to reopen the store as soon as all of the plumbing issues are resolved. Deciding to close a store is not a decision we make lightly, but after careful consideration, we felt it was necessary to make these repairs so we can better serve our customers and the community in the long run,” Amanda Henneberg, Walmart Spokesperson.

However, two plumbing technicians who have worked for several years at the Brandon Walmart aren’t buying the corporate statement.

“They don’t even really shut down the stores when they remodel them,” said Kelly Halbert.

Halbert says he’s fixed some plumbing issues at the store, but nothing major.

“Just ordinary, standard maintenance problems. People drop things in toilets all the time, keys, cell phones, they flush em down, lines get clogged you snake em out. Standard,” said Halbert.

His working associate Codi Bauer also doesn’t believe the store is being closed due to plumbing issues.

” I’ve done a lot of maintenance work out there. I go out there and I unclog the drains, but there’s been no major problems there, it’s all been normal stuff that we do at every store,” said Bauer.

Walmart did not immediately return an email requesting clarification about their previous statement.

  1. In the State of GREED we are in. No way this store does a million plus a day, its a multi-million zollar operation, I’ve been a contractor for years and never closed a store, not ever!

  2. The plot certainly thickens, since this excuse is being used for several store closings, yet all IN the Jade Helm A/O.

    So? Just sayin’……
    .

    1. PS: EVERY WalMart that has closed for “plumbing issues” has yet to file any work permit, nor contact anyone in any trade in their areas.

I find that a little more than curious….
      .

  3. Closing the store in order to fix some plumbing issues. Oh puhhleeaseee!!!! That’s so minute, even my workplace would find that extremely ridiculous and would never do that. That’s like saying you are going to close the store because your dairy section needs remodeling. WTF?? Something is definitely not right with this whole situation. Not buying it for a minute.

  4. Some where along my “awakening process” I remember reading something about WalMart and the fact that it started in Arkansas……
and that it was not the genius of Sam Walton, but a more sinister beginning having something to do with tons of money from drugs or something like that.

Does anyone else know about this? I honestly can’t remember where I read or heard this, but it did make sense to me at the time, but I never dreamed WalMart would be involved in something like this.

  5. As I stated previously, this is such a blatantly lame-@ss excuse, it’s almost as if they WANT the sheeple to KNOW it’s a lie.

    Tick, tock…

I guess you didn’t get the memo, accommodations are being made for the New Americans.
Which lets face it some of you are deserving aholes, while others not so much.
Maybe you can all chew on your bigotry masked as god ordained a little longer til the next scapegoat…coming right up!
