this is new music to me….
later on in the piece, the musicians….get into some notes on the musical scale that are pleasant. tempo and intent for the listener ….changes…..in a surprising manner…….liked it!
The Yes Album is a cult classic. The lyrics to the song tell the story of what’s happening in today’s world. I’m really surprised and somewhat jealous you have the opportunity to listen to the whole album for, possibly, the first time! I’m pretty sure you’ll remember hearing this from 1971!. I’ve Seen All Good People and Starship Trooper were also big hits off this album. Of course, I have a digitally re-mastered 33 lp which retains the analog “crispness” and superior sound.
you know what…Millard! Of all the music I have been a party of as a listener, since 1957, or there abouts and being trained as a performing musician myself and still am enjoying that, this is the first time I have heard of the musical group YES…..and there have probably been others also that fit my being unaware of them….I have something close to 600 youtube music video links on my music list……….but who can really do it all….wish I could live that long and participate as a listener to all that…wonderment…of beauty…..
I was fortunate…my very young parents say something in me they wished to cultivate…I was given music lessons on the Piano, given an acordian as my first instrument, then a trombone and myself then a petal steel guitar………..music is the rock bottom of my living…It’s just incredible what it brings to players and listeners…..both………..
so isn;t it odd….I haven’t been a part of this group….
And I will listen……….cause that’s one side of music as important as the performing………….of it……tks to you
rbeason, we’re around the same age I believe and that’s why I was surprised you weren’t familiar. You’ve heard “Roundabout”, and “Owner of a Lonely Heart” by Yes?
