The neo-cons are saying it in an effort to justify cutting Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps, and welfare in order to save us from the financial crisis. While out of the other side of their mouths they have to say the economy is growing and there are plenty of jobs, otherwise how could you possibly justify cutting Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps, and welfare while further cutting taxes for the rich elite.
Now the socialists have to say the economy is bad in order to stop the cuts to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps, and welfare. While on the other hand they have to say the economy is growing and there are plenty of jobs, otherwise it would have to be that Obama is not only a failure, but has in reality taken us further into depression and we should get rid of him in the next election.
Now for the ugly truth; when both sides are pushing the lie of a growing economy and jobs, they claim that 250,000 jobs per month are being created. Well let’s look at that. We are and have been losing a minimum of 400,000 jobs per week; that is 1,200,000 jobs a month, minus 250,000 jobs created leaves a net of 950,000 jobs a month going away; times 12 months is 11,400,000.
99ers and middle class, this is a catastrophe. We have been in a deep depression and are only going deeper every day while the traitors in our government from the phony right seek to eliminate the rest of our jobs and steal the last of our wealth and turn it over to the corporations through tax cuts for the filthy rich, (who are in reality the only ones who are supposed to be paying taxes.) And the phony left seeks to eliminate our jobs and steal the last of our wealth and turn it over to the corporations through phony stimulus and foreign aid. This is pure madness and it must end and we must end it.
I don’t know if we are going to make it to 2012, but I do know that Ron Paul has been removed from the mainstream propaganda machine as sure as the 99ers have, and of course the middle class, who are screaming to the heavens, “Stop!” We can help Ron Paul put an end to this rape, and it is really very simple. When the NFL and soon to follow NBA goes into Lockout, it means not just the players will be out of work. It means the thousands of employees that work at each stadium: Ushers, Mascots, Concession stands, etc.
Multiply that by 32 NFL teams and 30 NBA teams.

I have been following your posts for some time now and I appreciate you being a public voice for the long term unemployed. I have been out of work for two years now and am desperate for work but have been like many others outnumbered by fellow applicants. My mood has gone from frustration to desperation with every day jobless that passes. I am not writing to complain but rather to praise your efforts. I am a college graduate who was working in the medical field and went out of work due to a hip replacement, only to find my job had been displaced.
There are so many people with so many stories amongst the long term unemployed. I feel for everyone in my situation that really wants and needs work desperately. I pray and try to keep myself upbeat, motivated and my sense of self worth intact in the face of these trying times. My only hope is that your dedication to this socio-econimic dilemma is being read by Congress to give a damn about the people they represent.
I am not one for handouts as I began working as a student janitor in junior high school and continued working all through high school and college in various jobs. My work ethic has been rich but unfortunately today that doesn’t amount for much. In closing, I want to say thank you again Henry for your voice, your dedication, your research and for your attempts to expose how big this problem really is and how many people it affects.
