    1. “Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property… Horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding deprived of the use of them.”
      — Thomas Paine

Today Thomas might have added, “…but if, in their time of purpose they sit unused, they are rendered a common household knickknack silently gathering dust.”

      1. “There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against that power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.”
        — J. Michael Straczyski

“I insist there is nothing sacred in the life of an invader, and there is no valid principle of human society that forbids the invaded to protect themselves in whatever way they can.”
        — Benjamin Tucker

  1. When I was a littke kid growing up with the natives in the neighborhood, we used to play a booby trap game. Dig a hole, camouflage it with grass and twigs and wait for one of the invaders to walk into it and fall down. Then, with our toy guns, we could aim real good and shoot. Although I got shot a lot, I had my turn to shoot, too. That was a fun game.
