This video shows the ultimate animated comparison between a lot of different handgun and rifle calibers, from very small to very, very big.

I think the largest one, the 20mm Vulcan, is the largest “rifle” caliber. Compared to that, even the .50 BMG looks small 😀

All the models are made in Autodesk Inventor, the animation is done with Autodesk Showcase.

As far as I could find out, all the dimensions are pretty good, which means the comparison should be very realistic.
Here the list of the different handgun calibers used in this video:
1) .22 Long Rifle
2) 9 mm Parabellum
3) .38 ACP (Auto)
4) 10 mm Automatic C.I.P.
5) .45 ACP
6) .357 Magnum
7) .44 Magnum
8) .454 Casull
9) .500 Magnum
And the list of the “rifle” calibers:
1) 6 mm PPC
2) 7.62×39 mm FMJ
3) .223 Remington / 5.56×45 mm NATO
4) .243 Winchester
5) .308 Winchester
6) .30-06 Springfield
7) .338 Lapua Magnum
8) .416 Weatherby Magnum
9) .50 BMG / 12.7×99 NATO
10) 14.5×114 mm
11) 20 mm Vulcan
