The military may allow the National Guard in Washington D.C. to carry firearms and batons ahead of the inauguration, according to a report from the Associated Press, citing the Secretary of the Army.
Restrictions on the use of force are currently under review by Defense leaders, as they brace for more protests surrounding the January 20 inaugural.

A coronavirus has caused an outbreak of kennel cough among dogs in Canada, according to the country’s vets. The virus, however, is entirely different from Covid-19 which has been plaguing the globe for over a year.

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. admitted its role in the biggest foreign bribery case in U.S. enforcement history, reaching multiple international settlements to end probes into its fundraising for the scandal-plagued Malaysian fund known as 1MDB.
Goldman officials helped spread $1.6 billion in illicit payments across Malaysia and the Middle East as part of a scheme that diverted money raised for development projects into an international spending spree on mansions and lavish parties, the bank said. A Jewish Brooklyn man faces hate crime charges for allegedly scrawling messages on four synagogues, and burglarizing one of them, during an hour-long crime spree.
Emil Benjamin, 39, was charged Thursday with burglary and criminal mischief as a hate crime in connection with the early Saturday spree.

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Health experts are weighing in after a local nurse tested positive for COVID-19 more than a week after receiving his first of two doses of the Pfizer vaccine.
In a Facebook message posted on December 18, Matthew W., an ER nurse at two different local hospitals, talked about receiving the Pfizer vaccine that day. He told ABC 10News his arm was sore for a day but he suffered no other side effects.
