PESHAWAR, PAKISTAN –  Pakistani police prevented activists who were protesting U.S. drone strikes from blocking trucks carrying NATO troop supplies to and from neighboring Afghanistan on Monday.

Recently in Chicago a week was designated ‘CHICAGO IDEAS WEEK’. The objective of the week was to find ideas that would remedy all of the dilemmas facing the city.

All Chicago area residents were summoned to Chicago to “come see Rahm Emanuel and a community of global leaders, innovators  and creative minds as they shape the ideas that are shaping the world.”

Parents of a sixth grade student at the Milam Elementary School in Tupelo, Mississippi were shocked when their daughter brought home a political beliefs worksheet that teachers asked students to fill out.

TOKYO (Reuters) – The operator of Japan’s wrecked Fukushima nuclear plant completed on Thursday the removal of the first fuel rods from a cooling pool high up in a badly damaged reactor building, a rare success in the often fraught battle to control the site.
