DENVER (Reuters) – The destruction of 2,600 tons of World War Two-era mustard agent weapons banned by international treaty began on Wednesday at a U.S. Army depot in southern Colorado, officials said.

A NATO patrol intercepted Russian fighter jets over the Baltic Sea, Lithuanian authorities said on Wednesday, as Moscow marks the anniversary of its takeover of Crimea with one of its largest military drills in years.

Police are hunting a gunman who shot at least six people — killing one — at multiple locations Wednesday morning in Mesa, Ariz.

The Arizona Republic reported that the first shooting occurred in a motel room, where three were shot. The suspect reportedly fled the scene and shot three others. Lifting a 40-year-old U.S. ban on crude exports would create a wide range of jobs in the oil drilling supply chain and broader economy even in states that produce little or no oil, according to a report released on Tuesday.

The Arizona House of Representatives passed a new bill on Wednesday that stands to completely remove the state from the Obama administration’s plan to provide amnesty and federal benefits to illegal immigrants.

House Bill 2368, sponsored by Republican Rep. Melting snow and rain caused the Ohio River to spill its banks over the weekend, cutting off roads and flooding homes in the southern part of Ohio.

About $1m provided by the CIA to a secret Afghan government fund ended up in the hands of al-Qaida in 2010 when it was used to pay a ransom for an Afghan diplomat, the New York Times reported on Saturday.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal agents in a sweep targeting the most dangerous criminal immigrants arrested 15 people who have been allowed to remain in the U.S. under President Barack Obama’s executive action intended to protect children who came to the U.S. years ago with their parents, The Associated Press has learned.

Fourteen of the 15 had been convicted of a crime, the Homeland Security Department confirmed late Thursday. It was about 10:00 AM, September 19, 1967, when I boarded a commercial flight from Bien Hoa Air Base, Bien Hoa, Republic of South Vietnam. After a 15-hour flight, we landed at Travis Air Force Base, California, at about 10:00 AM, September 19, 1967.
