WASHINGTON (AP) — A U.S. military helicopter carrying six Marines and two Nepalese Army soldiers went missing during a mission in Nepal delivering aid to earthquake victims, U.S. defense officials said Tuesday, but so far there have been no indications that the aircraft crashed.

U.S. Army Col. Steve Warren said an Indian helicopter in the air nearby at the time heard radio chatter from the Marine aircraft about a possible fuel problem. He said the Huey, carrying tarps and rice, had dropped off supplies in one location and was en route to a second site when contact was lost. The U.S. Navy says one of its fighter jets has crashed in the Persian Gulf, and the plane’s two pilots ejected and were rescued without serious injury.

Mexico has declared an all-out offensive against the relatively new drug cartel which shot down an army helicopter during a weekend of coordinated attacks across the western state of Jalisco which prompted fresh concerns over the latest escalation of the country’s drug wars.

WASHINGTON, May 6 (UPI) — A federal audit has found that some employees at the Pentagon used government-issued credit cards to pay for things like gambling and prostitutes, a source close to the investigation reportedly said.

“We are not taking over anything,” an exasperated Pentagon spokesman assured reporters this week, in response to rumors that a military exercise planned this summer is actually an excuse to impose martial law on parts of seven Southwestern states. U.S. productivity fell by a 1.9% annual pace in the first quarter, resulting in the first back-to-back drop since 2006, the Labor Department reported Wednesday. Twenty-two years ago, three eight year old boys, Steve Branch, Michael Moore, and Chris Byers, were brutally murdered in West Memphis, Arkansas.  The crimes were almost immediately pinned on three delinquent teenagers, Damien Echols, Jessie Misskelley, Jr., and Jason Baldwin, soon after dubbed the “West Memphis 3.”  Two were convicted to life in prison and one to death row.  In 2011, all three were released after accepting a deal allowing them to plea quilty of lesser charges while at the same time maintaining their innocence.  This was done instead of a retrial based on new DNA evidence…leaving these horrific murders still unsolved.  Why would any state not want to find the real murderers and solve a case such as this?  And, why do so many people believe in the innocence of these three teens, including two of the victims’ parents?   Continue reading “The West Memphis 3 and the Unsolved Murders of 3 Eight Year Old Boys…Revisited.”
