Sales of recreational marijuana products in Colorado added more than $2.1 million to state coffers in tax receipts and other fees in the first month retail sales of the drug were allowed, state figures showed on Monday.

It’s no secret that the U.S. government is in serious fiscal trouble. So much so that our Treasury Secretary recently noted that should the debt ceiling fail to be increased, the fall-out would be “catastrophic” and last for generations.
Given that sobering report, consider that everything in America, from food to fuel, is subsidized in one way or another. Those subsidies are being paid with ever-increasing debt. It is inevitable that at some point the world’s reserve currency, the US dollar, will be wiped out. The trigger for such an event is irrelevant. On Saturday, I informed you of a Connecticut police officer who said he wanted to bust through one patriot’s door and take his guns. This morning I spoke with John Cinque via telephone and he provided me with screenshots of the conversation that he mentioned in the video. Many people wanted to see the evidence of what John referenced in the video. Some thought it was nothing more than ploy since he was in the video with Connecticut gubernatorial candidate Joe Visconti. I won’t attempt to judge Visconti’s motives. Experts at the organization monitoring the nuclear test ban treaty have been asked to see if they detected an explosion at high altitude of the missing Malaysian Airlines plane.
Lassina Zerbo, executive director of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organisation (CTBTO) told a news conference the organisation used “infrasound” – or infrasonic sensors – to monitor the earth mainly for atmospheric nuclear explosions. SAN DIEGO, CA — Dancers at a gentlemen’s club felt harassed and uncomfortable when the establishment was raided by nearly a dozen police officers who demanded to take pictures of the women and examine their bodies and permits.

Adam Lanza’s father, Peter Lanza, is speaking at length for the first time since his son shot and killed 26 people more than a year ago at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
Adam Lanza also killed his own mother and himself that December day in Newtown, Conn. His father, Peter, gave an extensive interview with The New Yorker magazine. SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A man surrendered peacefully Sunday evening after a six-hour standoff with authorities at the gated FBI office in Sorrento Valley.

A gunman opened fire inside a northern Ohio nightclub early Sunday, killing an off-duty police officer and two other men and wounding a fourth man.

An extensive hours-long manhunt for a suspect believed to have shot a San Francisco police officer came up empty Saturday night, police said.

Sacramento police officers on Saturday shot a knife-wielding man aboard a light rail train near 13th and R streets about 9:17 p.m.
Police said the man was taken to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento and was declared dead at the hospital.

A young graffiti artist shot by a Miami Beach police Taser stun gun died of heart failure from the “energy device discharge,” authorities said Thursday.
But the six-month-long medical examination concluded that the “sudden cardiac death” of Israel “Reefa” Hernandez-Llach, 18, was accidental.

TRIPOLI (Reuters) – Libya threatened on Saturday to bomb a North Korean-flagged tanker if it tried to ship oil from a rebel-controlled port, in a major escalation of a standoff over the country’s petroleum wealth.
The rebels, who have seized three major Libyan ports since August to press their demands for more autonomy, warned Tripoli against staging an attack to halt the oil sale after the tanker docked at Es Sider terminal, one of the country’s biggest. Amherst police said early Sunday that 73 people had been arrested after authorities spent most of the day Saturday attempting to disperse several large gathering around the UMass campus for the party traditionally held the Saturday before spring break. The partying carried through Saturday evening into early Sunday, and Amherst Police Capt. Jennifer Gundersen said in a statement that police were busy with numerous reports of fights, noise and highly intoxicated individuals.
