OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — One person was reportedly killed and another injured Sunday afternoon when a gunman shot a man outside the Jewish Community Center and then injured another outside Village Shalom, an assisted living facility.
Witnesses tell FOX 4 reporters that there are two crime scenes:

The hunt is on today for a black bear who mauled a woman at her home in an upscale central Florida neighborhood, leaving her with injuries to her face, legs and torso and requiring her to get 40 stitches to the head.

Technology is a double-edged sword. It has enabled the government to become more intrusive than ever with its online spying capabilities. However, cheap and discreet recording devices make it much more feasible to hold cops on the street accountable.
Police State USA encourages holding government officials accountable but advises everyone to research the laws in their own states regarding secretly recording audio conversations (Read more: The Reporter’s Recording Guide). Encounters with police officers in public generally do not fall under such restrictions, particularly after the recent court decision in Illinois. Residents of Albuquerque, New Mexico are marching on the police department Saturday to demand retribution against the city’s mayor and police chief for their role in the police force’s documented “execution” of citizens.

The mainstream media is making it sound like some sort of deal was struck. In reality the militiamen, protesters and supporters of the Bundy family forced the Bureau of Land Management to release the cows they stole by confronting them. Even threats of violence from armed government goons failed to stop Bundy’s supporters from eventually taking back the cattle. This situation is far from over though. It is pretty much guaranteed that the federal government will return when there are fewer people and the story is no longer featured in the news cycle. The Boston Police Department announced yesterday that an on-duty Police Officer named Dennis O. Simmonds, died after, “suffering a medical emergency” at the Boston Police Academy on Thursday. Officer Simmonds was recently honored at the Boston Police Relief Association Awards Ceremony for “his bravery during the initial Watertown shoot-out following the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings.”

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will not say if they have euthanized any cows in the roundup of Cliven Bundy’s cattle on public land in Nevada.
Amy Lueders, the Nevada state director for the BLM, said in a conference call Thursday evening that the agency does have a “protocol,” but would not release any numbers for animals they have found dead or that they have euthanized. The ground is moving under your feet. You probably won’t notice a thing, but a series of earthquakes has been hitting the Pacific Northwest.
More than 130 earthquakes have been recorded in Washington and Oregon over the last two weeks. Most are centered under Mt. Hood in Oregon and Mount Rainier here in Washington, but state seismologist John Vidale said it’s nothing to get too concerned about. A pastor determined to live out the Bible’s dictate that we feed the poor was shut down by local police because he didn’t have a permit to serve food.
Twice a month, Rick Wood, a pastor at The Lord’s House of Prayer in Oneonta, Alabama, gets in his truck and drives around Birmingham with more than a hundred hot dogs and bottles of water, handing them out to the homeless. Wood has been serving those in need for the past six years because he wants to put Matthew 25:35-40 — “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink,” a scripture verse he has plastered on the side of his truck — into action. ORLAND, Calif. — Los Angeles Unified officials said Friday that 19 of its students were aboard the bus that collided with a FedEx freight truck in Northern California. At least 10 people were killed in the fiery crash.
Officials have not released the identities of those killed in the crash, which occurred shortly after 5:30 p.m. Thursday when the FedEx truck crossed a grassy median on Interstate 5 and slammed into the bus packed with students en route to Humboldt State University.
