Is the Bible making a comeback? The year of our Lord 2014 features five new Biblical films (Son of God, Noah, Heaven is for Real, Exodus and Mary, Mother of Christ) and two of them have already been released on the big screens. Yesterday, the movie Noah made its anticipated release in theaters around the country. If you plan to view the new film, do not expect to find much truth in Hollywood’s spin on God’s Word. Ninety lieutenant colonels and 131 colonels were selected for early retirement by the Selective Early Retirement Board that met Dec. 9, according to data provided to Air force Times on Wednesday by the Air Force Personnel Center.

The officers were notified of their selection Jan. 23 and are assigned a July 1 retirement date.

(Source: WSJ) – The value of U.S. government bonds held by foreign central banks at the Federal Reserve shrank by a record amount this week, causing a stir in the Treasury market.

Treasury securities held in custody for foreign official and international accounts dropped by $105 billion in the week that ended Wednesday, according to the latest weekly data published by the Fed. (Source: The Hill) – The Obama administration on Tuesday said U.S. military drills in Eastern Europe “speak in a clear voice” to Russia, but that the White House still hopes for a diplomatic solution.

A U.S. Navy destroyer plans to take part in military exercises with Romanian and Bulgarian warships in the Black Sea, just across the water from the Crimean Peninsula. (USA Today) – Very low levels of radiation from the Fukushima nuclear disaster likely will reach ocean waters along the U.S. West Coast next month, scientists are reporting.

(Guardian) – Europe would face the “great danger of a real shooting conflict” if Russian forces moved beyond Crimea to enter the main part of eastern Ukraine, William Hague has said as he accused Vladimir Putin of a major miscalculation.

(Video, Infowars) – Earlier this week we noted that an invasion of the Ukraine by Vladimir Putin would likely lead to a complete destruction of U.S. stock markets. It’s not so much the invasion force itself, but rather, the economic maneuvers that would come with it should Russia take this course of action.

Well known economist and founder of the Shadow Stats web site John Williams seems to agree. If Russia were to begin unloading US Dollars it would almost instantly lead to a collapse of not only our financial markets, but our entire way of life.
