Berlin (AFP) – Dozens of specialists from the US Central Intelligence Agency and Federal Bureau of Investigation are advising the Ukrainian government, a German newspaper reported Sunday.

With pressure mounting to avert a transportation funding crisis this summer, the Obama administration Tuesday opened the door for states to collect tolls on interstate highways to raise revenue for roadway repairs.
The proposal, contained in a four-year, $302 billion White House transportation bill, would reverse a long-standing federal prohibition on most interstate tolling.

Each quarter, when we perform our regular update on trends in US homeownership and rents using Census Bureau data, we say that “The American Homeownership Dream is officially dead. Long live the New Normal American Dream: Renting.” One thing we added in 2013 is that the American Dream has now officially became a full-blown nightmare after mortgage rates exploded, even if declining modestly afterward, and in the process pummeling the affordability of housing as well as grounding any new mortgage-funded transactions to a complete halt (don’t believe us – just ask the tens of thousands of mortgage brokers let go by the TBTF banks in the past 6 months) while sending mortgage origination activity to record lows.Which is why it was not at all surprising to find that the just updated Q1 homeownership rate was 64.8% – the lowest in 19 years! We went to a local festival here in Lafayette today and look what we found. Notice the multiple cameras and the wording that reads, “We are watching” on the side.
What is bad is the sheep walked by it like it was no big deal. But we had to stop and take several pictures to let them know that we are watching to. Wealthy Chinese are pouring money into real estate in New York and some other major cities around the world, including London and Sydney, as they seek safe havens for their cash and also establish a base for their children to get an education in the West. BUNKERVILLE, Nev. — Militia groups are still surrounding the Bundy ranch days after the BLM ended its roundup of cattle. There is concern among some of them that they have been infiltrated by undercover federal agents.
One man, among the self-described militia, says at least two federal agents went undercover to gather information and are preparing to make arrests. This latest information is causing increased tensions among those who say their goal is to protect rancher Cliven Bundy. Around 50 people remain at the ranch, many living in tents, and are prepared to stay for weeks, even months. The men say they took an oath to protect, but they are worried there is a rat in the ranks

Texas officials are raising alarm that the Bureau of Land Management, on the heels of its dust-up with Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, might be eyeing a massive land grab in northern Texas.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Army paratroopers are arriving in Poland on Wednesday as part of a wave of U.S. troops heading to shore up America’s Eastern European allies in the face of Russian meddling in Ukraine.

The BLM defused the standoff, citing safety concerns for its employees and the protesters, some of whom were on horseback and others who were set up in sniper positions on the Interstate 15 overpass pointing military-style rifles at federal agents. Among the citizen army were dozens of women and children under the overpass who could have been caught in the line of any possible gunfire. Poland’s defense minister, Tomasz Siemoniak, announced Friday that U.S. soldiers will be deployed to the Eastern European country as part of a NATO expansion plan in response to Russia’s involvement in the crisis in Ukraine.
In an interview with The Washington Post, Siemoniak said that the U.S. and Poland will formally announce the deployment of troops next week and said that it is a sign that America is shifting its foreign policy priorities from Asia to Europe.
