Law enforcement authorities in Tallahassee, Fla., on Monday raided the home of a data scientist who had been fired by Gov. Ron DeSantis after refusing to manipulate numbers.

In the months since her firing, Rebekah Jones has continued to publish coronavirus statistics independently, while also issuing warnings on Twitter and cable news. DeSantis, meanwhile, has continued to downplay the severity of the epidemic, which has killed nearly 20,000 Floridians. An Oregon doctor dismissed Covid-19 as a “common cold” in a recently surfaced video and said the staff members at his clinic have not worn masks during the coronavirus pandemic.

A neighbor of Congresswoman Veronica Escobar was killed on Saturday night in El Paso, the congresswoman confirmed to CBS News. Police said a woman died at the scene and a 47-year-old man was taken to the hospital for a gunshot wound, according to CBS El Paso affiliate KDBC.

A training program for Kentucky State Police quoted Adolf Hitler and the Nazis not once, not twice, but three times, a student newspaper in Louisville recently reported.

The Manual RedEye, the student newspaper at duPont Manual High School in Louisville, broke the story after being given a copy of a 33-page slideshow used to train police cadets by a local attorney, who received the materials from KSP after requesting materials used to train a detective who shot and killed a man in Harlan County.
