Sir Richard Branson kissed the ground at Tel Aviv airport on Wednesday as he inaugurated Virgin Atlantic’s new UK to Israel route.

Deputy Director General of Israel’s Tourism Ministry, Pini Shani, greeted Branson as he descended from the plane, with the British entrepreneur and billionaire walking towards the cockpit and kissing the ground. The Times of Israel reported that his actions came “apparently after being told by a local reporter that this was the custom upon arriving in the Holy Land”.  Continue reading “Virgin boss Branson kisses the ground in Tel Aviv”

Los Angeles area residents ran for their lives on Thursday evening as wildfires, whipped up by strong winds,  reached residential neighborhoods, forcing 50,000 evacuations.

Two blazes are threatening LA, while another has taken hold in Sonoma County in California’s wine country, where 16,000 acres are burning. A group of around 20 student protesters disrupted former Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni’s Oct. 23 speech at Duke University.

The Duke Chronicle reports that the disruption began at an event hosted by The Duke Program for American Grand Strategy (AGS). Livingston, LA — A high level Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy — who commanded the SWAT team — has been arrested this week for unspeakable crimes against children. Dennis Perkins, 44, and and his wife Cynthia Perkins, 34, are accused of multiple counts of child rape and the production of child pornography, among other disturbing charges.

On Wednesday, the couple was arrested after a months-long criminal probe headed up by the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office. A transgender police officer in Washington, D.C., who has repeatedly been praised as a community role model has also quietly been reprimanded for improper sexually-tinged antics with underage police interns.

In a story published Thursday night, NBC4 News profiled Jessica Hawkins as a police officer who “helps build trust in [the] D.C. community” due to his work on an LGBT outreach unit. Homeless people living on the streets and sidewalks of downtown Miami are also relieving themselves on the streets and sidewalks of downtown Miami, turning the city’s core into an outdoor toilet, merchants and residents say.

“The situation is the worst I’ve seen in my 25 years here,” said business owner Jose Goyanes. “The stench is really bad, even after you hose it down. Speaking to reporters at the White House on Monday, President Trump bragged about his efforts to try to get the US “out of wars,” then warned that “we may have to get in wars, too. OK?

Trump continued on talking about how ready the US is for a war with Iran, and how Iran will get hit “like they’ve never been hit before.” The implication is clear that Trump is nominally ending wars, but that America’s hawks will get fresh, new wars to replace them.
