President Trump’s administration announced on Wednesday that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Defense Department will coordinate on a plan to send National Guard troops to the U.S.-Mexico border.

As about 1,500 Central American migrants with the open borders group Pueblo Sin Fronteras are traveling through Mexico and will soon reach the southern border, where they will likely request asylum in the U.S., experts say there are steps President Trump’s administration can take to block the group from entering the country.

Halfway through FY 2018, only 10,548 refugees have been admitted to the United States, according to the State Department website.

The invader “caravan” in Mexico—comprised mainly of Hondurans trying to force their way into America—is being stopped and dispersed by Mexican authorities after a series of threats by US president Donald Trump which included the withdrawal of US aid to Honduras, the deployment of the military to the US-Mexico border, and withdrawal from the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

According to a report on Al Jazeera, the Mexican government has announced it will disperse the invasion caravan. “”They cannot continue travelling illegally. Border Patrol agents arrested eight Bangladesh nationals in the Laredo Sector during a two-day period last week. During the month of March, Laredo Sector agents arrested at least 24 after they illegally crossed from Mexico. The Laredo Sector leads the nation in arrests of Bangladeshis who enter the U.S. illegally in South Texas.

The illegal aliens from Bangladesh crossed the border from Nuevo Laredo into south Laredo in two separate events on March 28 and 29. A caravan of more than 1,500 familes including men, women, and children are making their way from Central America through Mexico and are expected to arrive at the US-Mexico Border in the coming days to request refugee status.

Known as the Viacrucis Migrante 2018, the caravan began on March 25 in the state of Chiapas and is expected to reach Tijuana within a month where the members of the group are expected to request refugee status from the U.S. government. On Thursday, an officer in Pasadena, Texas, shot a suspect dead after the suspect allegedly pointed a gun at him.

Texas officer, 40-year-old Marc Adams, captured the incident on dash cam.
