Just like a candy-bar machine, the new marijuana vending machine contains different strains and flavors. You can choose from Purple Kush, Bubba, Kush, and other sativa and indica strains. These varieties are meant to help your body with its own existing endocannabinoid system, not get you high. The machine sells nothing larger than 3.7 grams and you can only use cash to purchase your pot. Purchasing is totally anonymous. On Tuesday, around 30 citizens attended a meeting of the Clark County, IL Park District Board. Most wished to address the board over several recent controversies and allegations of corruption. In the face of this, the board said a public comment period wasn’t on the agenda and quickly moved to adjourn the meeting. Citizen John Kraft then informed the board that he was making a citizens’ arrest of the members as provided under Illinois state law.

On what did it report? Well, on itself, and how alarmed it is due to its own increasing irrelevance in the face of new sources of information.
NYT is well-aware of the “New Media,” as a 96-page internal report, sent to top executives last month, makes clear. Obtained by Buzzfeed, the report “paints a dark picture of a newsroom struggling more dramatically than is immediately visible to adjust to the digital world, a newsroom that is hampered primarily by its own storied culture.”

There are some people still alive today who were present at the last public execution in France. Actor Christopher Lee, for instance. In the early morning of 17 June 1939, Eugène Weidmann bowed down before the blade of the guillotine, the last person to do so publicly.
Weidmann was the last person to be executed before a crowd in France. He had been convicted of multiple kidnappings and murders, including that of a young American socialite. His trial was a sensation in that tense summer of 1939; the Frankfurt-born Weidmann was quickly dubbed “Teutonic Vampire” by the tabloids. A New York ophthalmologist told FoxNews.com that special glasses former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was seen wearing last year are used to treat double vision, which is sometimes caused by severe head trauma.
Dr. Marc Werner explained the purpose of the Fresnel prism eyeglasses, like the ones Clinton wore, amid questions about the potential presidential candidate’s health. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee issued a new subpoena today for State Department Secretary John Kerry to testify about the release of documents on the Benghazi terrorist attack, saying that the State Department was engaging in “slippery tactics” particularly in now trying to offer “a more appropriate witness” to testify in place of Kerry.

JERUSALEM (AP) — U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel pledged to Israeli leaders Friday that the U.S. “will do what we must” to prevent the Jewish state’s greatest fear of a nuclear-armed Iran.

TUCSON – A park employee left for dead at the Chiracahua National Monument nine months ago, speaks out about her attack.
Karen Gonzales, 60, was viciously beaten in broad daylight in one of the park restrooms.

Excerpted from Sports Illustrated: SI.com has learned that Clippers owner Donald Sterling has hired prominent antitrust litigator Maxwell Blecher, who has written a letter to NBA executive vice president and general counsel Rick Buchanan threatening to sue the NBA. The letter, sources tell SI.com, claims that Sterling has done nothing wrong and that “no punishment is warranted” for Sterling. Blecher also tells Buchanan that Sterling will not pay the $2.5 million fine, which is already past due. Another big-name TV doc — Dr. Oz — backs medical marijuana … Dr. Mehmet Oz, a cardiac surgeon and host of The Dr. Oz Show, says medical marijuana is a good idea … though widespread recreational use is still a bad idea. He’s just the latest high-profile doctor to announce his change of heart. The US military is flying surveillance drones as well as manned aircraft over Nigeria to help the search for more than 200 schoolgirls kidnapped by Islamist extremists, the Pentagon said Wednesday.

The supreme official of the United States Department of Defense has said he is “unaware of the facts” behind recent media reports that Israel is aggressively spying on America.
Chuck Hagel, a former Republican Senator who assumed the leadership of the Pentagon in 2013, is on a three-day official visit to Israel, where he is scheduled to hold meetings with Israeli military and security officials. He was responding to a question posed by an Israeli reporter about allegations, made by American newsmagazine Newsweek on Tuesday, that Israel’s spies “have gone too far” in targeting American interests.
