AUSTIN, Texas (Reuters) – Federal investigators on Thursday combed through the home of the 23-year-old they say was behind this month’s deadly Texas bombing spree, seeking clues about what motivated his attacks the day after he killed himself in a confrontation with police.

Mark Conditt, an unemployed man from the Austin suburb of Pflugerville, confessed to the three-week string of bombings in a 25-minute video found on his cellphone, police said. Conditt blew himself up with one of his own bombs on Wednesday as police closed in on him in his car.  Continue reading “Investigators scour Texas bomber’s home, searching for a motive”

Out of the goodness of his heart, Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner vetoed an anti-gun bill that would require gun stores to purchase state licensing.  The bill is intended purely to drive up the cost of doing gun business in Illinios.  It’s an indirect tactic to decrease the ability of individuals to acquire and own the basic tools of self defense, guns.

The article featured in wandtv.com, an AP release, reveals the anti-gun nature of whoever wrote the article.  It offers very little perspective in terms of the people who might support Rauner’s move, but gives a whole section to the anti-gun, Cattle Car Guide association known as Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America (or, Police State Enablers Club for Moms of America, for short).   Continue reading “Illinois Governor Vetoes Anti-Gun Dealer Licensing Legislation”

Israeli authorities would need to relocate some 450 USSR immigrants, many of whom are in their 80s, from a plot of land to facilitate the construction of a new US embassy. And there is no solution in sight.

The plot in Jerusalem’s predominantly Jewish Arnona neighborhood is owned by the United States and currently accommodates an American consulate, which will soon be promoted to embassy status. This is scheduled to happen on May 14, coinciding with the 70th anniversary of Israel’s declaration of independence, although red tape may force a postponement, according to local media.  Continue reading “Israel needs to kick out 450 elderly people to make room for new US embassy”

Parents in Michigan have turned in their own son in order to stop a school shooting plot from unfolding. The 15-year-old is being accused of plotting to shoot up his high school.

“He came to us and said that he’s been really upset and that he’s been planning to do something bad,” his stepfather said. “It was a big shock.” His stepfather also said “he wanted to blow the school up on top of” those who had hurt him.  Continue reading “Parents Turn In Their Own Son To Stop A School Shooting Plot”

Child abuse imagery has been detected in Bitcoin’s blockchain, according to a new study. The discovery potentially puts cryptocurrency users at risk, as anyone who downloads a blockchain could be held liable for illegal content.

Researchers from RWTH Aachen University in Germany and the Data Protection Research Institute at Goethe University in Frankfurt found 1600 files, including texts and images, on blockchain. Among the data were instances of illegal pornography and serious privacy violations, the team says.   Continue reading “Child abuse imagery ‘found within Bitcoin’s blockchain’”

Over the past 25 years, I’ve documented and exposed the horrendous effects of psychiatric drugs.

To take this a giant step further, what doctor, in his right mind, would DIAGNOSE a baby, a toddler, a very young child with a mental disorder and then PRESCRIBE one of these drugs?   Continue reading “How about life in prison for doctors who prescribe psychiatric drugs to toddlers?”

Following yesterday’s market-moving report of a fatal accident involving a self-driving Uber car on the roads of Tempe, Arizona, legal experts immediately chimed in, saying this case presents many thorny legal issues – chief among which is the issue of who could be at fault.

Since it was the first recorded fatality involving a self-driving car, would investigators point the finger at the car’s human driver? Uber? The car’s manufacturer? Some combination of the three (or none of the above).  Continue reading “Tempe Police Say “No Fault By Uber” In Fatal Crash”

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The Trump administration is expected to unveil up to $60 billion in new tariffs on Chinese imports by Friday, targeting technology, telecommunications and intellectual property, two officials briefed on the matter said Monday.

One business source, who has discussed the issue with the administration, said that the China tariffs may be subject to a public comment period, which would delay their effective date and allow industry groups and companies to lodge objections.  Continue reading “U.S. expected to impose up to $60 billion in China tariffs by Friday: sources”

“Whether he went on with the diary, or whether he did not go on with it, made no difference. The Thought Police would get him just the same. He had committed—would still have committed, even if he had never set pen to paper—the essential crime that contained all others in itself. Thoughtcrime, they called it. Thoughtcrime was not a thing that could be concealed forever. You might dodge successfully for a while, even for years, but sooner or later they were bound to get you.” (George Orwell, “1984”)

With honey bee populations still in peril from one or several of a litany of hotly debated causes — neonicotinoid insecticides, changing climate, and more — Walmart appears to have joined the race for a technological solution to a potential looming disaster, filing a patent for robotic, drone bees earlier this month.

Technically called pollination drones, Business Insider points out, the tiny bee imposters’ capabilities would theoretically include crop pollination — managed remotely through sensors and cameras allowing precision maneuverability between crops and monitor, as well as to monitor that pollination was both sufficient and successful.   Continue reading “Raising Countless Eyebrows, Walmart Files Patent for Autonomous Bee Drones”

San Luis Obispo County, CA — Terrifying video of an in-custody death has recently been released confirming police officers tortured a man for days in a restraint chair and then laughed as he spent his final moments alive suffering in agony in his jail cell.

The footage, obtained by the San Luis Obispo Tribune, not only shows the graphic death of Andrew Holland in January 2017 but it also proves cops told the public a story that did not happen.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday required Arizona to continue to issue driver’s licenses to the so-called Dreamers immigrants and refused to hear the state’s challenge to an Obama-era program that protects hundreds of thousands of young adults brought into the country illegally as children.

The case centered on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program created in 2012 under Democratic former President Barack Obama that Republican President Donald Trump already has sought to rescind. Those who signed up for DACA are shielded from deportation and given work permits.   Continue reading “U.S. Supreme Court rejects Arizona challenge to ‘Dreamers’ program”

I’m happy to report some good news coming out of New Orleans thanks to the excellent investigative reporting of Ali Winston with The Verge.

As I reported two weeks ago, Winston helped to uncover a secret predictive policing program that had been ongoing for 6 years by the New Orleans PD in cooperation with CIA-connected Palantir Technologies. The program had been designed to operate behind the cover of a philanthropic partnership orchestrated by political operative James Carville so as to avoid having to disclose the details to citizens and even to their elected representatives in the city council. Now it appears that the intrepid reporting of Ali Winston has led to the abrupt cancelling of the program just a short time after the initial article was published.   Continue reading “New Orleans Cancels Secret Pre-Crime Police Program After Media Exposure”

A candidate for Senate from Michigan named Brian Ellison is raising money to buy pump style shotguns for the homeless. Ellison says that homeless people have the right to defend themselves just like the rest of us do, and they are victims of violence more often than the average person as well.

“Not only are the homeless constantly under threat from would-be criminals, but they are also under threat from governments at various levels that criminalize activities that homeless people rely on for survival,” Ellison said.   Continue reading “Senate Candidate Raising Money To Buy Guns For the Homeless So They Can Defend Themselves”
