The United States exported to Israel a substantial amount of the same types of weapons Israel is using to kill Gazans, a new analysis of US Census Bureau export data reveals.
For example, in 2013, the United States sent Israel at least $196 million in parts for military airplanes and helicopters, a category that includes F-16 fighter jets and Apache helicopters, both of which Israel is currently using to attack Gazan homes, offices and farmland. Between January and May 2014, the United States had already exported $92 million in parts for military airplanes and helicopters. (Todd Woody) Scientists on Thursday released the results of a first-of-its-kind study that finds the seven states of the drought-stricken Colorado River Basin are depleting groundwater reserves at a rapid rate. That threatens the future of a river that supplies water to 40 million people and irrigates 4 million acres of farmland.
Scientists at the University of California, Irvine, and NASA analyzed data from a satellite that measures underground water reserves to calculate that the Colorado River Basin has lost 65 cubic kilometers—that’s 17.3 trillion gallons—of water between December 2004 and November 2013. That represents twice the capacity of the United States’ largest reservoir, Lake Mead in Nevada. Most worrying, 75 percent of the loss came from groundwater supplies. Ukrainian troops have on many occasions used incendiary weapons and cluster bombs against militia-held cities, acts that are banned under the international law regulating warfare, the Russian military said.
The accusation was voiced on Friday by Major General Viktor Poznikhir, the deputy commander of the chief operations branch of the Russian General Staff. Earlier some media reports claimed that munitions, which are not allowed to be used against civilian targets, were used in eastern Ukraine by the Kiev troops in their assault on armed militias. Before the founding of the Zionist movement, there were about 1,000,000 Jews throughout the Middle East, living among Arabs in relative peace for many centuries. In 1890, there were 500,000 Arabs living in Palestine, 80% of which were Muslim, 8% Jews. Yet, Zionist leaders claimed they were coming to settle “a people without land [mostly European Jews] on a land without people [Palestine].”
By 1947, Jews owned about 6% of the land in Palestine. Yet, the United Nations – perhaps in light of the aftermath of the genocide of Jews in Europe – voted to partition Palestine between Jews and Arabs, giving Jews 54% of the land. The European Union has come out unambiguously in support of Israel’s mass murder of defenseless men, women and children in Gaza.
In a statement issued July 22, the EU has destroyed once and for all its pretence of being guided by “humanitarian concerns” in formulating its foreign policy—as exemplified by its pose as a restraining influence over Washington’s pro-Israeli stance regarding the Palestinians. As the death toll from Israel’s savage bombardment of Gaza continues to climb, Israel has once again turned to students to sell the slaughter online.
“Although they haven’t been called up to the army yet, they’ve decided to enlist in a civilian mission that is no less important – Israeli propaganda [hasbara],” Ynet’s Hebrew edition reported about a massive initiative organized by the Israeli student union branch at the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya (IDC Herzliya), a prestigious private university. In the past four months, 2000 Americans have been killed by that which is coming over our southern border, the illegal invasion, and we are told we must accept this situation and spend billions catering to the children being used as a human shield for this invasion.
On the other hand, a few Israelis are killed by bottle rockets coming out of Gaza and we are told that what we see in these pictures is justified as the Israelis have a right to be secure within the borders of their country. The “most moral army in the world” from “the only democracy in the Middle East” has attacked hospitals, a home for the disabled, a geriatric hospice, demolished five mosques, razed entire neighbourhoods, erased entire families – the youngest – so far – just three days old if you do not count the unborn, as in the case of twenty nine year old Samar Al Hallaq killed with her two sons, aged four and five, other members of her family and carrying her third child. Her husband was critically injured. Continue reading “International Anger Mounts Against Israel”
