  1. One mistake–a beekeeper marries a woman who is allergic to bee stings. (That is, my husband marries me! Thank God I never got into anaphylactic shock!)

    1. Another mistake–beekeeping in places where it gets very cold in winter. In my neck of the woods, very cold temps is a rarity. and another mistake is lack of bee pasture…in my neck of the woods in the midst of desert far west Texas, that IS a problem due to sometimes droughts. My husband lost half his hives during the severe drought of 1983. Now we get hives only from wild bees that my husband removes their hives from houses or garages.
