Called the supercapacitor, this revolutionary device can charge a cell phone within just 20 seconds. The brainchild of 18-year-old Esha Khare of Saratoga, California, the lucky teen collected $50,000 at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Phoenix, Arizona this week.

The device is sure to make waiting around for your cell phone to recharge a thing of the past, In addition, the gizmo packs more energy into a smaller space than traditional phone batteries — and holds the charge for longer.

Khare traveled from her California home to Phoenix last week for the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, where her invention was honored as one of two winners of Young Scientist Awards.

“I’m in a daze. I can’t believe this happened,” Khare, a senior at Lynbrook High School in Saratoga, she told reporters.

Khare has only used her supercapacitor to power a light-emitting diode or LED. She envisions a bright future that one day will see her invention powering cell phones, cars and any gadget that requires a rechargeable battery.

On her way to Harvard, Khare told TV journalists that this is only the start and that she will “be setting the world on fire” from here.

Specializing in nano-chemistry, Khare was able to reduce the size of her invention. “Really working at the nano-scale to make significant advances in many different fields,” she says.

“It is also flexible, so it can be used in rollup displays and clothing and fabric,” Khare added. “It has a lot of different applications and advantages over batteries in that sense.”

Flexible and tiny, the supercapacitor is able to handle 10,000 recharge cycles, more than normal batteries by a factor of 10.

How an 18-year-old girl has managed to figure out something that multi-national corporations have not has led to her being flooded with offers for her amazing leap forward.

Google has since been in contact with Khare to explore how she plans to change the makeup of cell phone battery life.

  1. QUICK! Silence him! He will ruin all our corporate profits! He will prevent us from controlling the people and milking them of all their money.

Say he’s a hoax and then make him have an accident. What am I paying Al-CIA da, Obama and the White House for?

    (says the insane elitists)

    1. Sorry, I first thought it was the boy that won and not the girl. My bad. Just replace the “he” with “she” wherever required.

  2. “How an 18-year-old girl has managed to figure out something that multi-national corporations have not has led to her being flooded with offers for her amazing leap forward.”

Simple. They don’t want the public to have this much power. It will cut their corporate profits in half.

“Google has since been in contact with Khare to explore how she plans to change the makeup of cell phone battery life.”

Sure they have. Google (AKA CIA) wants to watch her, blackmail her, use her for their own purposes and stonewall her from inventing anything else that she might create to make the world better and cut their control from We the people. She’ll learn that those corporations will quickly pull out patents, copyrights and contracts in for her to make the inventions THEY want her to make and in order to make her inventions theirs and to make sure that she gets ZERO credit for them after she leaves. Kinda like Tesla when he was alive.

However, if you look at it from another angle, if she is anything like old Mark Zuckerberg, well then, this is yet another CIA asset working to undermine We the People.

Only time will tell, I guess. Either way, if she is smart, she will take that 50,000 dollars, startup a small shop somewhere in the middle of nowhere and go into business herself. She doesn’t need a Harvard Scam indoctrinating education or AL-CIA-da to tell her what to do or take away what is rightfully hers.

  3. Does this mean we don’t have to go to war with Afghanistan over Lithium batteries? Whoops! Forgot about them Poppyseeds. Gotta at least keep the drug war going.

      1. Really? Mexico? If that’s true, then what the hell are we still doing in Afghanistan? What a bunch of greedy bastards.

        1. Yep NC, at least that is what I have heard that they have had those poppy feilds south of the border. This was back in the early ninties or late eighties – dates do not mean anything to me ya know, hehehe. I knew some military freinds that were in – I think – Panama or Guatamala back in the day. They used to talk alot about the pot and poppy feilds they would see. This is only just what they said though.
